Designation: Sr. Manager – Indirect Tax

Experience: 12yrs – 15 yrs

Education: CA

1) Indirect tax matters include :

- Excise

- Customs

- Service Tax

- Export Oriented Unit (EOU) Scheme

- Foreign Trade Policy

2) The position will be based at Mumbai.

3) The job involves knowledge of Excise, the Export Oriented Unit (EOU) Scheme, Customs, Service Tax, Foreign Trade Policy, etc.

4) Will have to handle / monitor the matters of all the 7 units of the Company.

5) Good interpretational skills to understand and interpret the Indirect Tax laws.

6) Requires very good drafting skills.

7) To work closely with the Indirect Tax team members at the various locations and ensure complete compliance of the Indirect Tax laws at all the 7 units.

8) To ensure timely availing of all monetary benefits (Cenvat, Rebates, Refunds etc) available to the company.

9) To obtain all approvals, permissions etc from the Excise Dept., Development Commissioner’s Office, as may be required by the company.

10) To prepare replies to Show cause notices, if any, and also appear before the Adjudicating Authorities, for Personal Hearings. Likewise, preparing Appeals before the Appellate Authorities and appearing for Personal Hearings.

11) Liaising with the Government Authorities and networking with other industries.

12) Liaising with Advocates, Solicitors, Consultants, whenever required.

13) Timely filing of various Returns.

14) Attending to Audits by the Excise Dept (EA 2000), CERA Audits.

15) Court Matters : This includes handling all Court matters initiated by the Company or defending matters initiated against the Company in all Courts and Tribunals. This requires good knowledge of Civil and Criminal Laws.

16) Conduct periodic internal audits at all the locations and submit audit reports.

17) To provide advice and guidance on the queries on Indirect Tax, put forward by other Processes.

18) Update all concerned internally on the relevant changes in the applicable laws.

19) To conduct training / knowledge sharing sessions to the members of the relevant Processes.
