Our client EY is looking for suitable candidates for a Senior Manager - IFRS position at Mumbai location.

Technical review :

Technical review involves performing objective, critical and substantive review of financial statements of large companies, before they are released to public. In case of IFRS/ Ind-AS technical reviews, the members of group act as experts on various IFRS engagements.

IFRS technical review involves performing objective, critical and substantive review of IFRS deliverables. IFRS reviewer effectively acts as a guide to engagement teams on all major IFRS issues by helping them to understand and resolve these issues. In case of Indian GAAP financial statement, the reviewer conducts a desktop review of financial statements with a view to ensure that the financial statements are free from material misstatements and disclosure deficiencies.

Consultations :

Members of the group act as first point of reference on any complex accounting issue being faced at the client location. They work closely with the engagement teams on various issues leading them to a logical conclusion.

Thought leadership initiatives :

We undertake regular thought leadership initiatives to enhance our position as the leading service provider in the market.

Our publications reach a large number of people and are well appreciated in market place. Technical group is responsible to develop these thought leadership initiatives enabling its members to further strengthen and showcase their technical expertise.

Some of our widely acknowledged thought leadership initiatives are publications/ webcasts on the new Companies Act, Good Company (India) Limited - Revised Schedule VI model accounts, Getting to know Ind-AS, Assurance Eye and weekly alerts - Assurance this Week.

- We also conduct regard thought leadership activities on Ind-AS.

- Developing the firm's position on standards and interpretations

- The group plays a key role in developing firm's position and preparing comments letters on all key development in the area of accounting, including IFRS and Ind-AS. Hence, each member of the group is expected to have an in-depth knowledge and analysis on all such developments.

- Since the member is considered to be an expert on the topic, he is also responsible to train others in the firm. He will be continuously involved in developing training material and imparting trainings to the Assurance practice.

Special projects :

The Group also carries out special projects from time to time. Our group members, from time-to-time, get involved in key activities of the regulator, e.g., representation on SCODA, EAC committee, Ind-AS formulation, Guidance note on revised Schedule VI, etc.

Client experience :

The Group members also deal directly with clients on various issues. Certain group members are also engaged in the client engagements. All group members get direct client experience from time to time.

Other activities :

We also get involved in other activities such as marketing and media related activities and interact with regulators and standard setters.
