JOB SUMMARY:

Define and implement a single, optimal source for all data & establish reliable, consistent and common processes for data preparation and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own the data

- Own the data set for the business

- Define a data dictionary for all relevant database fields to be used in analytics work

- Define and implement a single, optimal source of all data

- Define tests to check for completeness and accuracy of the data extracts used

- Have an in-depth and aligned understanding of data across various data sources within the organization, to arrive at the source of truth

- Suggest corrective measures/new means to manage data outages in terms of data sanctity and appropriateness, wherever required

- Manage data reconciliation issues across different data sources to arrive at the true data and fix the issue for future reference (root cause analysis, problem identification and resolution)

Establish and manage a robust process for data preparation and management

- Establish reliable and consistent, common processes for data preparation

- Define and implement processes for standard data extracts/queries/reports for routine analyses

- Document processes for routine data extraction and reporting, as well as the approach to fulfilling ad hoc data requirements

- Extensively support in data analysis for management support and decision making

- Interaction with external vendors/consultants and internal teams for innovative solutions with respect to data management

- Adhere to agreed TAT and accuracy of the information requested

- Handle ad-hoc analysis requirements from the senior management team

KEY STAKEHOLDERS

- Internal: Business functions like Actuarial, Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Distribution MIS, CSO, HRM Analytics; Senior management team and Executive Leadership Team; CEO

- External - Data management/analysis vendors and/or consultants, as appropriate

MEASURES of SUCCESS :

a) Single data source for all data

b) Maintain desired level of data quality

c) Feedback from supervisor and other stakeholders

d) Timely and accurate delivery while maintaining the desired quality of deliverables

e) Coordination and relationship within and outside the function

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

a) Post-graduate/MBA (any discipline, preferably Statistics, Maths, etc.) from a recognized institute with 5-7 years of relevant experience

b) At least 5 years of related experience in a service organization, preferably in a data-driven role

KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED

a) Analytical skills to develop intelligent insights and recommendations

b) Knowledge and hands-on experience of statistical tools (like SPSS, SAS etc.) will be an added advantage

c) High level of proficiency on working in MS Office (Excel, Power Point & Word)

d) Positive and - Can Do- attitude

e) Excellent Interpersonal and team working skills

f) Ability to work in highly competitive & demanding environment

g) Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to effectively balance the needs of multiple initiatives in parallel

h) Knowledge of BFSI and insurance industry in particular would be desirable
