Urgent hiring for Senior Manager and AVP role into Middle office (Product Control) for Gurgaon location

Role: Internals Middle Office Senior Manager and AVP role

Reports to: Transaction Management & Operations Team Leader

Business Division / Areas of GFS: Corporate & Institutional Banking Markets

Background:

Middle Office Internals team in Gurgaon provides the daily support and control of Internal transactions within the Corporate and Institutional Banking Business. The team runs reconcilliations across a number of core trading systems and these are housed within the banks strategic system; TLM.

Key support functions are

- Review of daily breaks MI produced from TLM

- Tracking the resolution of all internal breaks and production of associated exceptions reporting and MI

- Control of the Internal Counterparty set up processes

Scope of Role:

- Review of daily breaks MI produced from TLM

- Investigation and allocation of breaks from daily breaks MI to Regional Middle Office teams

- Tracking the resolution of all internal breaks and production of associated exceptions reporting and MI

- Involvement in definition of business requirements, UAT testing and go-live cycle for new automated TLM reconciliations being delivered by Internals & Intercompany Project

- Be involved in project work covering controls enhancement, efficiency initiatives and strategic developments in order to provide business advantage,

- Constantly challenge and look for more efficient solutions wherever possible,

Purpose of the role:

- Purpose of the role is to perform business as usual (BAU) within C&IB control function in ensuring internal transactions are properly booked, controlled and reported and all the risks around the processes performed are raised, assessed, monitored and addressed as well as to drive projects and trigger continuous improvements initiatives.

Key Deliverables:

- Ensure 100% accuracy and completeness of all the results,

- Ensure all breaks are resolved,

- Identify Control Gaps / weaknesses and development of remedial activity in conjunction with key stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with the regulatory and statutory requirements and Company compliance policies and procedures affecting the business area,

- Identify improvements in the processes and the working environment to obtain efficiencies,

- Ensure the business area conducts its activity in accordance with all relevant external regulators and policies,

- Identify problematic areas and agree on an effective resolution with the team,

- Work closely with all the stakeholders (Front Office, other Finance teams, Market Risk) on regular and ad-hoc requests,

- Support business with reports and analysis as and when required,

- Ensure that assigned tasks and deliverables are on time

- Ensure issues are pro-actively followed up to ensure timely resolution,

- Establish good relations with internal and external stakeholders,

- Ensure process documentation is reviewed and updated (as required)

- Evaluate and manage the impact of change programmes to current operating model and processes,

- Identify and track systemic issues and drive resolution at root cause,

Technical Competence required:

- Essential

- Prior experience of investigating, resolving and reporting breaks

- Or prior experience of Investment Banking operations, reconciliation support or reporting experience

- Understanding of Investment Banking through working in Operations, Middle office, or Finance environment

- Business awareness, through experience, of the linkage between Operations, Finance, Risk processes and reporting requirements

- Able to demonstrate examples of improving existing business processes

- Experience of producing dashboard, metrics and identifying outliers/exceptions

- Experience of coordinating and consolidating data obtained from different sources

- Microsoft office desktop skills - intermediate Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint

- Ability to break down complex problems into their core components

Desirable

- Knowledge of Derivative and Currencies Products

- Previous Middle office experience

- Experience in an Analytical / Project based role

- Influencing skills and collaborative ethos

Experience:

5+ Years

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail

- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and verbal

- Strong communication skills

- Self motivated with high professional standards

- Strong analytical skills

- Working knowledge of front to back setup within investment banking (systems, processes, functions)

- Experience of/demonstrated ability re working autonomously to prioritise workload in a time-pressured environment

- Experience of working in an environment with a strong customer focus, with experience of pro-actively working with demanding customers in a flexible manner
