Senior Global Category Manager - BPO/KPO/ITeS/CRM/Transcription/eLearning (5-10 yrs)

Description :

The role is to support the Global IT procurement Director in the establishment of the category strategy and in the delivery of the most complex sourcing initiatives at a Global Level . The role will be primarily measured on Savings, Cost Avoidance, Working Capital Improvement, Supplier Performance, Contract Compliance and Value Creation

Accountabilities - General :

Category Management/Operational Excellence :

- Deliver the negotiation of tenders from source of supply to contact delivery for selected complex zone or global initiatives

- Responsible for supply market management and value engineering defined through the category strategies and sourcing plans.

- Manage long-term - Value Management Relationships- with selected global suppliers.

- Work with the business to segment and identify spend areas to strategically source with the goal of identifying cost savings and increasing working capital through payment terms.

- Develop and document sourcing best practices through creation of knowledge documents

- Quickly acquire commodity knowledge in categories where there is limited internal knowledge

- Support the development of talent pipeline of the category via knowledge sharing and coaching of zone sourcing team

- Step into Team Lead position in the absence of the Global Director of Procurement IT

Sourcing Project Delivery :

- Overall responsibility for on-time delivery of high-quality Sourcing Services projects.

- Monitoring the progress of individual projects and providing guidance to sourcing team members in execution of sourcing projects

- Serve as escalation point for project quality issues for sourcing team members as well as internal stakeholders - Develop and improve sourcing project management tools and processes, leveraging from industry best practices - Maintain and provide a current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends to team members and business partners

- Understand and have experience in Global BPO, Global Telecom, Global Application, Software, Hardware negotiations and establishment of SOW's.

- Ability to manage suppliers per the established SOW's and establish performance penalties

Supply Market Intelligence :

- Provide leadership to team in supply market intelligence research and analysis activities for visibility in key cost drivers, pricing trends, emerging market regions, supply market adjustments, capabilities, capacities, etc

- Develop and implement research, analysis and intelligence reporting methodology, tools, databases and processes

- Support internal purchasing, strategic suppliers review and new product development programs with supply market intelligence

- Develop, coordinate and manage supplier business reviews

- Manage the development, implementation, and alignment of global or regional sourcing strategies and global or regional supplier network capabilities for the appropriate industry to achieve broad business objectives

- Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and in new markets as business requirements dictate

- Direct the development and negotiation of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives

- Advises on global supplier network capabilities, commodity/spend category trends and industry best practices

Key Internal Stakeholder and External Supplier Management :

- Global VPs and Directors as well as country teams while respecting the square model & Zone IT procurement teams

- Construct supplier agreements and manage key selected Global suppliers

- Create supplier engagement plans and assess supplier performance

- Manage the ongoing relationship & contract lifecycle

- Conduct dispute and non-compliance resolution

Compliance, Policies and Reporting :

- Embody the highest standards of compliance and ethics

- Implement the Code of Business Conduct in particular, as it relates to Procurement

- Define procurement policies and procedures

- Adhere to Risk Management policy with Treasury

- Implement Corporate & Social Responsibility policies & procedures

Business Environment :

- The creation of the new Global Procurement Organization will transform the Procurement Function in the company going towards to a much higher centralization at Global level.

- This will require a high sourcing and analytical capability at GPO combined with high efficiency. The Senior Global Category Manager IT will need to deal with a great amount of ambiguity upfront as they work through the strategy and execution plan.

- The role will have only indirect reports in the zones, therefore the bigger challenge will be to coordinate and work effectively with the existing resources in the zones and in the functions to create an - extended- sourcing team.

- Stakeholders are distributed across the globe and this individual will be required to work long hours to accommodate multiple time zones.

Scope of Role : Global, all zones :

- Total category spend $0.5Bn, - 2,000 suppliers

- Total Centralized spend under control $100MM, 5-10 suppliers

Qualifications And Technical Competencies Required :

Education :

- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA, University (MSc, etc) preferred.

- 10+ years professional experience preferred

- 5+ years strategic sourcing / procurement experience in the IT category in a global context

Critical skills needed for success in this position :

- In-depth Knowledge and understanding of large scale IT and Service Center outsourcing relationships (e.g. Datacenter management, Application Support, BPO- )

- Thorough knowledge of On/Off shore cost, productivity, long term competitiveness of Off Shore locations, Software Market Practices, new technologies that reduce total costs, etc

- Ability to create and manage Master Service Agreement and Statement Of Work with outsource providers (including Service Level Agreements and associated service credit mechanism)

- Ability to negotiate Software agreement of all type (perpetual license or SaaS)

- Ability to negotiate multi-zone agreements with necessary tax optimization understanding

- Ability to know how to consolidate IT spend and provided leadership in establishing the strategy

- Excellent communication, project management and relationship building skills

- Strong Management skills of both internal and external stakeholders

- Must possess ability to lead formal and informal teams

- Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills

- Ability to deal with Ambiguity

- Global Sourcing Knowledge and Experience

- Proven Leadership skills

- Ability to communicate fluently in English

- Other European languages knowledge preferred

- Willingness to travel frequently internationally
