Senior Director - Engineering - VC Funded Tech Startup

Position: Sr. Director of Engineering (US based VC Funded Tech Startup)

Role:

- This role is with a VC funded Tech Startup which uses Artificial Intelligence and deep learning algorithms to simplify enterprise content creation

- Responsible to deliver the highest quality code against product timelines, by leading and growing a high-powered team of developers in India

- Product and strategy planning with the management team to set the right goals

- Contribute ideas for process improvement, not just for the engineering team but for the company itself

- Provide technical leadership for product and business strategy

- Responsible for translating architecture into implementation

- Inspire, lead and grow a world-class engineering organization

- Improve code quality, adopt best practices of quality assurance and test-driven development

- Design and execute processes for workflow and standards

- Manage project milestones, progress, and issues

- Collect, analyze, and report metrics to stakeholders

Requirements :

- BE/ BTech (Comp Sc/ IT) (preferably from a top institute) with 11+ yrs of work experience in companies with rigorous processes around quality and execution

- Additional MBA a plus

- Experience in developing high-performance, highly available, and scalable applications. Experience with distributed, large scale systems. Build large scale systems that handle millions of transactions daily

- 5+ years experience leading development teams

- Java, Message queue technology (e.g, Akka), SQL Server Databases expertise required, PLAY framework desirable

- Familiarity building multithreaded applications

- REST expertise required; Micro-service architecture familiarity needed

- Experience in AWS deployment and securing web apps

- Java/JEE for mobile and web applications

- Web frameworks such as Angular.js and REST APIs

- Test Driven Development/continuous integration/deployment/testing

- Experience in apps that handle Office and Adobe documents such as PPT(X), PDF, DOC(X)

- Should have an attitude of job ownership, should be inspirational, should be a team player and a person with integrity
