Senior Business Architect - Bank

Hiring for a local bank in Malaysia Senior Business Architect.

Reporting To : Head Business Architecture

No of positions available : 2-3

Contract : 12 months renewable

Work location: Kuala Lumpur

Preferred notice period : 30 days notice period or below

Salary range we can offer based on experience: RM12,000 to 16,000 per month, Indian Value Rs. 1,92,000 - Rs. 2,60,000 per month

Primary skills required for Senior Business Architect:

- Consulting and related experience

- Strategy or operational consulting

- Minimum 5 years banking experience. Knowledge of various areas of banking - front or back office or business line (retail, corporate, capital markets)

- Minimum 5 years of experience as senior business analyst in banking industry

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

(Duties job holder regularly performs) :

- Senior Business Architects are responsible for translating client business strategy into actionable value creating ideas and overseeing and monitoring their delivery.

- Business architects are aligned to business units and spend 75% or more of their time working closely with business unit executives to define and oversee enhancements to business capabilities: Business Architects have three main categories of responsibilities :

Client Value Discovery :

Working with clients to create value :

- Define opportunities to create business value for the business client.

- Define the business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities.

- Work with the other architects to explore specific solutions and define the scope of the project.

- Lead the evaluation of solution options and develop recommendations based on business requirements, value generated, implied risk profile and adherence to regional standards

- Oversee the business case and proposed financial and operational metrics to measure business benefits

- Responsible for ensuring business case benefits are delivered by coordinating change management and business resources to ensure activities to realize benefits are executed

- Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to ensure that the needs of the business are being met.

- Serve as liaison to the business to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the implementation team.

Overseeing Client Value Delivery : Working with project teams to ensure value is delivered

- Review new business process designs to ensure business needs are being addressed and leading practices implemented.

- Work with the business and project team members to assess current capabilities and identify high-level requirements.

- Monitor requirements gathering to ensure business needs are being addressed and leading practices implemented.

- Participate in quality management reviews of projects as outlined in the Validation Task Overview, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements.

Determining the Group Enterprise Architecture : Working with Group Executive and industry thought leaders to ensure our Enterprise Architecture is at the forefront of the industry

- Work external experts to ensure the EA Component Framework is fit for purpose

- Work with Group Executive to maintain the Regional Capability Architecture (ReCA)

Skills Competencies :

- Strong appreciation of high level business strategy and translates them into implementable projects.

- Good to excellent understanding on the stated business domain with proven track record of designing or implementing solutions in that domain

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with senior business executives

- Experience to create robust, sustainable architecture that supports requirements and provides for scalability given budgetary constraints and user requirements.

- Ability to translate business needs into solutions

- Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems

- Ability to estimate the financial impact of solutions and alternatives

- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes

- Knowledge of financial models and budgeting

- Team Leadership, dynamics and a good team player.

Abilities :

- Ability to engage at the senior business executive level

- Ability to demonstrate domain knowledge to senior business executives

- Ability to maintain big picture and business vision when dealing multiple complex issues

- Strong analytical approach and able to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment when tackling issues.

- Ability to coach and influence project teams to focus on delivery of business value

- Ability to understand technology issues and work with IT personnel to develop pragmatic solutions to problems whilst delivering business value

- Dynamic and not afraid to create ambitious goals and targets and lead from the front in achieving them

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (Years, type, industry-related, etc.) :

- Minimum 10 years consulting and related experience. Previous experience in strategy or operational consulting highly regarded.

- Minimum 5 years banking experience. Can cover any area of banking from front or back office or business line (retail, corporate, capital markets)

- Minimum 5 years of experience as senior business analyst in banking industry

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIRED :

(eg. Certificate/Diploma/Degree/Master/Professional) :

- University degree preferably in finance, banking, economics or science related discipline. Masters and doctorates looked upon favourably but not a pre-requisite
