About Porter:

Porter, started by three IIT Graduates, is an online marketplace for Logistics in India. Our goal is efficiently bring together Logistics Service Providers with Business Owners, while using technology to make the experience as simple as calling a cab.

In doing this, we open up a large Client Base for our Service Providers, and a reliable fleet of Commercial Vehicles for our customers, while increasing utilization of logistics resources available in the market.

In the short period since inception, Porter has expanded to three major metros, and further expansion activity is underway.

Job Profile:

This position requires the candidate to use advanced statistics on multi-dimensional data and design experiments that will be leveraged to drive operations and develop strategies for Porter.

- Identifying business objectives and advising on suitable analytical strategies.

- Conduct in-depth custom research studies for the Organization

- Use Analytical and Statistical techniques to gain insights into Customer Behavior, Trends in Demand and Market Analysis

- Conceptualize and build dashboards and reports to display data backed insights from data generated by our products

- Analyzing data, identifying issues, creating hypotheses and executing experiments

- Reporting on key metrics, analyzing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytical data.

Technical Skills:

- Advanced MS Excel/ Spreadsheet skills or other such tools.

- Proficiency in tools such as R, SQL.

Skills/Experience Required :

Requirements/Qualifications : A Degree from a reputed institute - ISIs, Chennai Mathematical Institute, IITs or NITs with a strong conceptual understanding of various statistical concepts like Predictive Modelling, Regression, Clustering, Optimization etc. along with hands on experience using R or Python.

- 2-3 Years of work experience in data analysis and statistical modeling

- Sound knowledge of analytical tools (specifically R or Python) used in statistical analysis

- Possess excellent analytical skills to identify and solve critical issues

- Prior experience with Geospatial Data is a plus

- Experience in a Startup is a plus
