Senior Analytics Specialist  National Bank Of Kuwait  Job Description :  Job Range: 12+ years  Job or Position: Senior Analytics Specialist  Group/Division: CBG - Business Performance Management  Reports To: Head of MIS and Data Analytics  Internal Relationships :   - BPM, Marketing, Product Teams (Cards, Loans and Liabilities)  - Operation, Branding and Advertising, Domestic Branches Division, Direct Sales Teams, Call Centre, Human Resources Department & Training Unit, Business Banking, CLD, Insight Unit (Market Research and Competitor Research), PR, Alternative Channels Teams, IBG Team, IT  External Relationships :   - Providers of Systems & Applications related to BPM  Job Purpose :   - Responsible for identifying & developing statistical models using SAS for the customer behavior & preferences for Consumer Banking & Business Banking portfolio in the bank for Executive Management & Board.  - Provide support to BPM & CBG Group through :  a) Conducting Strategic Projects with High level findings & Recommendations  b) Providing Insights on the Health of CBG Customer Base  c) Providing Insights on the Health of Staff Productivity & Utilization   - Lead in developing and reviewing data extraction, assessing data quality & developing management reports in order to support the management decisions (statistical/analytical/behavioral reports and plan/forecasts)   The person must be self-motivated and will have direct reports, which will require excellent people development skills and effective communication skills.   The person must have strong organizational skills & project/process management skills with ability to multi-tasking when it is required and must be able to effectively communicate performance results, performance updates and key initiatives to senior management  Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities :   - Responsible for developing key risk metrics maintain broad understanding of main those indicators for Consumer & Business Banking and moreover, responsible for monitoring portfolio trends impacting portfolio performance & then, communicate these drivers through senior management presentations  - Responsible for supporting/developing modeling and analytical methodologies by exploring new modeling and data mining techniques, for providing recommendation for statistical software and tools and new data sources.   - Review all analysis and studies done by the Unit and insure correct methodology, approach and accurate data were taken.  - Utilize the SAS tools : SAS Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide, Visual Analytics, and Campaign Management.   Lead and Execute Analytics Related Projects:   - Complete projects that require data mining, analysis, and presentations  - Focus on solutions, quickly identify drivers in the data   - Identify relevant trends, do follow-up analysis, provide recommendations, prepare visualizations and presentations.  - Develop dashboards to track remediation of issues  Knowledge Sharing :   - Hold Workshops to build the skill set and understanding of SAS tools and Statistical Data Analysis amongst various groups within CBG, particularly MIS, CVM, Marketing and Products teams.  - Research new and optimal ways to analyze data in the banking realm  - Lead small teams (2 to 3 members) and be responsible of their development and coaching to pass the knowledge and experience to them  Educational Qualifications & Experience :   - University Degree majoring in Statistics, MIS, Business & Research with 7+ years of experience in any related field  - Preferably a Masters in Statistics   - Fair Knowledge of retail products & services, particularly liabilities, investments, insurance, loans, and cards.  - Experience with developing models in other banks or financial institutions.  - Experience using data mining/analysis software (e.g. SAS, SQL,MS access, Excel Macro etc).  Competencies :   - Must be a team player and team builder in order to maximize the synergies between each of the teams which will play a part in the overall success of the Unit  - Highly self-motivated and self-directing. Should have the required experience and confidence to independently manage, coordinate and implement an agreed plan of multiple activities.  - Must have skills in Analytical Thinking, Planning and Organizing, Monitoring Performance, empowerment & Goal Setting  - Ability to manage projects while working under pressure, have high spirit, improving as per coaching, attitude & behavior in office  - Change management  - People management/development  - Problem solving.  Skills :   - SAS Tools (SAS Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide, Visual Analytics, Campaign Management)  - Good analysis & presentation skills: must have a good level of numeracy and be highly conversant with MS Excel & PowerPoint.  - Strong project management skills are highly desirable   - Solid, demonstrable level of knowledge of the principals and practices of Analysis and Research  - Demonstrates leadership skills on a regular basis.  Critical Success Factors :   - Ultimate success is judged by the ability to propose and execute projects which will influence business decisions, strategies and implementations  KPI's :   - Contribute in the Visibility and Success of Business Insight Unit
