Senior - Assurance

IN-Tamil Nadu-Chennai

Job purpose

As a senior, you are required to manage a portfolio of clients and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work of the Global shared services team serving that client. The role requires technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards and strong project management skills along with well-developed communication and leadership skills. Seniors work on increasingly challenge engagements, in order to gain the experience and skills needed to manage a portfolio. Audit seniors typically manage small teams comprising Associates, Advanced Associates and Lead Associates. The role will be the blended experience of domestic and multinational clients for CA's who will like to gain exposure to IFRS/ ISA's/ multinational companies whilst retaining domestic client experience.

Your client responsibilities

- Technical Competencies / Skills required:

1. Audit Technical skills: good knowledge of Indian auditing standards. Working knowledge of ISA's an advantage.

2. Accounting Standards: good working knowledge of Indian GAAP and financial performance and measurement concepts. Working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP an advantage.

- Coaching skills: able to coach and supervise junior team members and give feedback.

- Project Management skills: able to run multiple (5-6) engagements and team members simultaneously and should also collaborate with the onshore engagement team to identify critical project outcomes, work products, barriers to success, and changes in expectations or scope.

- Communication skills: builds relationships with on-site and overseas colleagues, explains issues clearly, escalate and resolve problems appropriately.

- Team player: contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism toward work challenges

Your people responsibilities

Technical skills requirements

Additional skills requirements

- Chartered Accountant

- 1-2 years post-qualification experience from midsized to Big 4 audit background, potentially in BPO finance environment.

- Robust and assertive, able to handle conflicting demands and priorities

- Attention to detail

3.JOB DESCRIPTION: MANAGER

EXP:(5+)YRS of POST QUALIFICATION CA.

OCTC: upto 30LPA.

Job purpose

As a Manager or Senior Manager, the project and relationship management skills they have been building during the time as Senior and Assistant Manager will become critical to their success. Professionals are likely to be responsible for managing a sizeable portfolio of clients, and the operational aspects of engagement management such as engagement finances, resource management, and elements of risk management.

Professionals will continue to manage, coach and act as a mentor for more junior staff, playing a key role in the development of the team. They will build strong relationships with on-shore colleagues and clients, identifying areas where GSS can improve quality of, and increase the scope of work.

The opportunity to become a manager and Senior Manager is dependent on the business requirements of the service line and their performance.

Your client responsibilities

Lead a team of Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates and make sure the team delivers high quality work, as per methodology, on time and to budget

Develop and maintain productive relationships with key Global contacts, i.e., Global assurance managers and project managers

Develop an understanding of Quality and Risk Management procedures, and ensure these are embedded in to the engagement team's work.

Work closely with Global audit managers to transition new engagements and services to GSS Assurance whilst maintaining quality of service

Proactively discuss work flow management with the audit teams in Global, allocating resources to audit work and monitoring performance against standards.

Demonstrate professionalism, competence and clarity of communication when dealing with GSS and Global audit teams.

Establish expectations of value to be delivered to the Global audit teams and ultimately to the Global audit clients

Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize audit processes across a portfolio of clients

Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.

Delegate work successfully.

Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Lead by example.

Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Contribute to technical and soft-skills training to continually develop the team's skills.

Your people responsibilities

Lead a team of Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates and make sure the team delivers high quality work, as per methodology, on time and to budget

Technical skills requirements

Knowledge of Indian accounting and auditing standards. Knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP and International auditing standards is an advantage

Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation Skills

Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills

Excellent communication skills including speaking and writing effectively in English

Ability to spread positive work culture and live values

The ability to quickly form strong working relationship with colleagues in India and around the world.

Additional skills requirements

We currently are seeking qualified chartered accountants or CPAs with over 7 years of experience
