Section Manager - Transfer Agency (UK Management Accounts Team)

ROLE

Responsible for leading and managing the India TA Management Accounts department consisting of Management Accounts and CASS Reconciliations teams. The department is responsible for the production of management accounts, reconciliations and ensuring that all client service standards and regulatory requirements are met.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsibility for the internal sign off and delivery of the Monthly Management accounts and reconciliations to London within the specified Service Level agreements.

- Responsible for the delivery of the balance sheet, bank and client money reconciliations

- Responsible for ensuring that exception reporting is completed for all clients.

- Day to day oversight of processing quality and timeliness in Bangalore, seeking appropriate information from UK management where required

- Analyse monthly management information to understand where quality at an individual, process, team or management company needs to be addressed

- Maintains a close working relationship with other areas, such as Dealing, Registration, Settlements and other internal areas in the UK TA Teams

- To facilitate regular team meetings

- Sets partner objectives and monitors these and provides feedback through monthly one to one meetings

- To work with internal and UK based departments to implement changes where new regulations are introduced and to ensure that all current requirements are met

- Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.

- Responsible for the development, recruitment, appraisals and retention of Partners.

- Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

- Qualified Accountant - ACA

- Experience in a TPA/ TA would be preferred

- Knowledge of Cash Management and Client money regulations required

- Experience in working with Multi Currency companies

- A good understanding of effective risk management

- Effective numeric analytical skills are essential.

- Effective verbal reasoning skills

- Good working knowledge in MS Office

- Knowledge of PS Financials (desirable)

- Ability to work under pressure meeting challenging deadlines

- Excellent planning and organisation skills

- Flexible approach to work

- Ability to review and resolve complex issues

- Ability to work on own initiative

- Knowledge of cashbooks and General Ledger packages

- Knowledge and understanding of FSA / HMRC regulatory Environment

- Overall min 8+ - 13 yrs. experience in a similar domain and minimum 6 years of work experience in the areas of Management accounting / financial control

- Candidate should have been officially leading a team for minimum 3 years

- Should be from IB operations or custodial operations background

- Should be professionally qualified (CA/CMA/CPA/ICWAI) Mandatory

- Should be flexible with all the shifts.

- He she may start working in EMEA/ Late EMEA/ APAC

- Work location - Bangalore (initial 9 - 12 months he/she will be based out of our Pune location, before they get transferred to Bangalore permanently)
