Job Description:

- Takes action to stay well informed on business priorities and results

- Familiarity with consulting tools/methodology

- Understands and articulates the value add? of HR services

- Clarifies requests, effectively identifies issues and considers alternate approaches before proposing solutions

- Keeps up-to-date with internal HR processes and tools that drive business results

- Administers all aspects of employee files, payroll, data maintenance and reporting

- Identifies opportunities to leverage technology and/or systems to solve business issues

- Understands system capabilities/limitations including the impact and timing of employee data changes within various systems, processes and tools

- Participates in shared services opportunities

- Basic understanding of total reward programs

- Serves as an employee advocate to resolve claim issues in an accurate and timely manner

- Performs routine plan administration tasks (e.g., Job Evaluation Questionnaires, salary surveys, incentive plan payouts)

- Initiates and maintains appropriate documentation within required timeframes and legal requirements

- Communicates performance management information to employees and managers

- Promotes, utilizes, and consults with managers/employees on the performance management process

- Assists managers in utilizing HR tools and processes

- Understands and follows recruiting and staffing processes (Relocation Domestic and International, Visa)

- Conducts recruiting activities in compliance with local and global laws (Visas)

- Identifies qualified candidates to meet business needs

- Participates in the candidate assessment process to make hiring recommendations (ie: candidate screening and Behavioral Interviewing techniques)

- Sources and organises appropriate training and development solutions in line with customer requests and budget

- Delivers standard /off the shelf training solutions in response to customer requests (e.g., Introduction to company, basic skills, policies and procedures)

- Conducts legal and confidential investigations and mediates issues and suggests solutions to meet both employee and organizational concerns

- Maintains positive employee relations through employee activities, employee recognition programs, and/or communication forums

- Coaches management on performance actions (evaluations, corrective action, terminations)

- Strong working knowledge of applicable local and global laws and required governmental reporting

Assists in creating and delivering communication messages/plans to target audiences with input from various sources

- Understands and applies corporate visual standards

- Understands and applies specific media for each communication plan (literature, direct mail, promotions, seminars, trade shows, web, e-News)

- Basic understanding of print production process

Knowledgeable on all the local health & safety regulations with some knowledge on state/provincial and country regulations

Knowledgeable on health and safety management system guidelines,

Is able to explain why Health and safety management is essential to employees complete physical and mental well being

Deploys H&S programs / structures in support of the corporate H&S vision

- Understands and ensures compliance with applicable legislation affecting labor relations and responds to legal complaints/charges

- Develops positive management/union relations through proactive communication and training

- Advises management to ensure consistent labor agreement administration and manages informal/formal complaint resolution processes to meet company/labor concerns

- Assist with negotiating local bargaining agreements

- Utilizes HR metrics to assist in driving business results

- Understands basic qualitative and quantitative methods/tools

- Tracks and explains what / why a particular metric is important

- Understands potential cross-functional impacts of organizational design changes

- Assists in making recommendations regarding organizational structure changes

Effective monitoring and implementation of EOHS standards in his department by

- Ensuring adequate training on identification of training needs of his team

- Provide required resources and build skill and competency with respect to EOHS requirements

- Proactive steps in workplace hazard identification and mitigation of identified hazards

- Implementation of corrective and preventive action on work place accidents

- Implementation of safety procedures and ensuring adherence to them
