Candidate profile

We are looking for a candidate with exposure to handling a variety of quantitative analysis projects across domains: financial research and business research. The role requires a highly energetic and bright candidate with a pleasant attitude and hands-on working style. The candidate has to be strong in both, thought leadership and execution. Key requirements are:

- Bachelor's degree in Economics/ Statistics/ Financial Mathematics/ Operations Research/ related fields

- 3+ years of econometric modeling and statistical analysis experience

- Strong project management skills and multi-tasking abilities

- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Technical Skills

- Experience of developing econometric and statistical models. To create documentation for corresponding models.

- Experience with linear regression and time series modelling. Proficient in statistical softwares such as SAS, R, E-Views. An advanced knowledge of calculus and game theory is good to have.

- Ability to quickly master complex financial and risk concepts. Strong mathematical and statistical skills to detect market changes.

- A strong background in modeling with large amounts of data.

- In depth knowledge of analytical tools and frameworks; ability to build client-ready deliverables and identify new approaches and analytical frameworks for complex client-specific situations.

- Strong business acumen - should be able to correlate market drivers, challenges with impact on client or target companies, should be able to evaluate business risks etc.

- Significant exposure to PowerPoint as well as MS-Excel (advanced excel features) work including storyboarding, etc.

- Experience of leveraging databases such as Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Avention OneSource, Mergermarket, etc.

Role and Responsibilities

- Lead assignments requiring quant specialization. Illustration of assignments include:

Stress-testing exiting portfolios under various scenarios (such as rise in yields, inflation, energy price, etc.)

Forecasting macro-economic data, such as FX, sovereign yields, under specific scenarios

Calculating statistical probabilities of bull and bear markets for global equity stock indices

- Support in developing new tools and solutions such as macro-economic index tools with built-in econometric modelling capability.

- Enhance existing tools and solutions with predictive analytics capability

- Build quantitative analysis capability within the organization. Lead and guide junior resources to deliver on ad-hoc requests which include understanding project specifications, overseeing deliverable preparation and extensive client communication

- Responsible for tracking and reporting progress on projects/ initiatives to senior stakeholders internally

- Firm-level responsibilities which can include, execution & development of new tools, knowledge management, training, recruitment & selection and proposal development
