Short Description   Reporting to the Delivery Leader - Learning Content & Branding, and working in close collaboration with RIL learning academies, the Lead - Instructional Designer will lead the design and development of high quality online learning and ILT offerings across RIL. This individual will play a key role in helping the business move to program solutions which are modular, experiential, blended, relevant and readily available through the LMS learning infrastructure.  This role with the help of other instructional designers and visual designers involved in review of 3rd party content development approaches/strategies and requires proven experience in providing learning solutions and experience in different types of learning strategies. The role also requires a good understanding of various learning theories behind different approaches and strategies.  Key responsibilities will include stakeholder engagement and team management; curriculum design learning and instructional design, and assessment of learning impact.  Long Description   Key Accountabilities:  - Build relationships with key stakeholders to fully understand the business and the learning requirements.  - Drive alignment of key stakeholders to achieve agreement on content, design and delivery approaches.  - Define learning product requirements through facilitation with stakeholders to agree the content, shape and delivery format of learning offers.  - Create, develop and manage a diverse and capable Learning Design team, driving for high performance and service excellence  - Own and actively manage multiple key supplier relationships, ensuring consistent and beneficial terms and conditions, a clear partnership and leverage of unique technical insight  - Ensure 70:20:10 learning principles are applied to designs with a bias towards application of learning on-the-job  - Lead the design of - bite-sized- modules to provide learner access to content in a self-paced environment  - For defined projects, lead functional team of Instructional Designers, Visual Designers and Content Engineers to ensure delivery of project desired outcomes  - Engage with technical specialists, practitioners, faculty and delivery leads in the development of content.  - Work closely with the LMS team to deliver solutions that are readily available online in modular format  - Be recognized as the subject matter expert in instructional learning and content design providing practical and actionable expertise and know-how around online learning best practices.  - Working with key stakeholders, define and gain agreement on KPIs and process for assessing business impact.  - Ensure resource utilisation and responsible for the productivity and quality of ID team members  Essential Criteria and Qualifications:  - Post graduate degree (preferably in Psychology/ Education/ Mass Communication) or proven capability to learn.  The ideal candidate will have all or a good mix of the following:  - 8+ years- work experience in a closely related field  - Experience in design and development of large, high impact, technology-enabled learning programs with flexible scope and scale, that address the competence needs of the individual  - Proven experience designing and delivering solutions which are modular, blended and experiential.  - Demonstrated team management and leadership capability.  - Strong communication, influencing and facilitation skills.  - Ability to manage virtual teams and manage conflict to produce coherent and integrated learning material.  - Strong understanding of curriculum design and development principles  - Experience in using technology to deliver learning concepts across a complex organization  - Proven project management skills and ability to multitask across multiple initiatives  - Experience managing 3rd parties as part of a blended delivery team  - Experience in designing and developing learning for those working in high hazard operating environments  - Ability to understand and articulate project requirements to the team and ensure timelines are met  Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  - Evidence of continued professional development  - Experience in designing and developing learning for those working in high hazard operating environments  - Good understanding of various learning theory principles behind various instructional design strategies; and good understanding pedagogy and androgogy.
