Research Manager - Construction Industry (15-25 yrs)

The Research Manager is responsible for leveraging the company’s business intelligence products and infrastructure to create and manage a bespoke market research report segment as an independent profit center.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- The Research Manager must operate in line with the directives of his immediate manager and operate in accordance with the Company’s Procedures, Policies, Standards and Quality Management System. The operational responsibilities of this position include:

Leadership & Training:

- Serving as the product champion and P&L manager for company bespoke market research.

- Building a world-class market research team specialized in construction industry centric research.

- Front-line, hands-on leadership in managing a multicultural research team responsible for research, analysis and publication of research reports.

- Working closely with the Data Management and Editorial teams to leverage these resources and to create a complementary integrated product offering

Research & Analysis Report Publication:

- Establishing research standards, methodologies and guidelines and ensuring adherence to them.

- Compiling in-depth research & analysis reports on various construction related industries as per a publication plan and for bespoke reports on schedule and within budget.

- Developing, managing and constantly improving the research & reporting processes in accordance with ISO 9001.

- Managing and maintaining relationships with key industry sources including leading engineering and contracting firms and government agencies to acquire market intelligence and insights.

- Monitoring, identifying and accurately analyzing specific industry segments, socio-economic behavior and market trends as they pertain to the construction industry.

- Staying updated on construction industry developments to serve as a subject matter expert.

- Serving as the Chief Analyst for reports and analytics published by the company. 8. Presenting industry analysis at conferences and seminars as well as participation is panel discussions.

General Management General Management:

- P&L responsibility for the market research product segment.

- Managing an annual operating and capital budget for the research function.

- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Job Description:

Knowledge/Skills/Qualities:

- Must be independent, confident, self-driven, profit-center leader.

- Must be an intelligent thought leader capable of extracting industry insights to turn data into business intelligence.

- Should have excellent oral, written communication skills, presentation skills, analytical, people management and interpersonal skills.

- Should be able to lead, motivate, coach, teach, multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines, encourage and promote team performance.

- A solid understanding of the socio-economic and cultural history of the Middle East in context of current affairs. Should have proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases and other analytic tools.

Experience/Qualification:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering and Masters Degree in Business Administration

- Minimum 15 years management experience in industry-focused market research.

- 10+ years experience with a leading management consultancy firm.

- An indept understanding understanding of the construction industry.

- A proven track record of setting up and successfully managing a multicultural research team.

- A track record of publishing market studies, business plans and feasibility reports, strategy papers and industry analysis.

- Experienced in presenting industry reports and analysis to industry audiences at seminars and conferences.
