Position offered: Purchasing Engineer-Commercial Electrical.

Position based: Pune

Reporting to: Head- Purchase

Position Summary:

- Identification of new suppliers based on the need & development considering low volume product.

- Purchasing and developing of Materials from suppliers/Vendors

Main Responsibilities:

- Align Sourcing Strategy - Product Road map & Technology Portfolio Analysis, Purchasing Strategy-Supplier Criteria

- Supplier Market Assessment-New Supplier search- Short Listing of suppliers

- RFI (Request for supplier Information), RFQ-Request For quotation

- Supplier selection as per Criteria & Evaluation

- Contract Management, Supplier Performance Management

- Cost calculation & negotiating the price for various items

- Releasing Schedules & Purchase orders as per MRP.

- Follow up with Supplier for their deliveries & commitment as per the due date.

- Localization or substitution of parts

- Support to Global team for localization or BCC procurement

- Knowledge of importing parts

- Identifying the critical & important area of delivery failure/quality issues & implementing action against the same.

- Day to day co-ordination with Stores for receipt material, Quality for acceptance of material, Assembly Shop for various issues related to Assembly, Accounts- payment, Logistics, service dept etc

- Identification of new suppliers based on the need & development considering low volume product.

- Ensure good housekeeping, working discipline & culture, environment control- following best practices, Quality implementation in every aspect of work & maintain continuous improvement sprit.

Critical Skills and Personal Attributes must have:

- Good communication skills using English as a base language & Marathi /Hindi as additional languages.

- Candidate must have hands on experience in vendor selection, evaluation, vendor up gradation with specific criterion like Quality, Cost, Delivery, administration, technology etc.

- He must have sound technical as well as commercial knowledge of the Development of components category like Cabinet

- Candidate must have hands on experience in vendor selection, evaluation, vendor up gradation with specific criterion like Quality, Cost, Delivery, administration, technology etc.

- Knowledge of the Development of components category like Cabinet Assembly, Enclosure, Cable/wires, Switch Gear, Motors, Automation parts like Drive, PLC, Encoders, Sensors etc .

- Shall have knowledge of various options in the market for electrical parts & sources - Locally as well as globally.

- Knowledge of ERP system- MFG - PRO, SAP (Working knowledge & application of ERP / MRP, requirement reports, PO system etc.)

Educational level:

- Degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute.

- 8 to 10 years in purchasing & vendor development in the company like Switch Gears/cabinet Assembly or Machine Manufacturing Industry.
