Scrum Master (Project Manager) - eCommerce Platform

At Rakuten's India development centre in Bangalore, we are looking for outstanding project manager/scrum master to join the ranks of our team and contribute to next generation of eCommerce platform leveraging Java, Big data and Open source tools & technologies .

We- re looking for a technology minded project manager to manage and grow our next-generation e-Commerce platform supporting Rakuten internet services ecosystem.

You will play a role of scrum master, Manage, resolve & escalate obstacles and drive scrum teams to success. With effective written and verbal communication you need to bring ideas from professional facilitation, coaching, conflict management, mediation and help the development team becoming a high-performing team. As a Scrum Masters you will facilitate the teams Scrum. Responsibilities also include running the daily stand up, facilitating sprint planning, and backlog grooming, facilitating sprint retrospectives, and removing any roadblocks the team may encounter during a sprint.

Responsibilities:

- Work with stakeholders across Rakuten eCommerce product & internet Services ecosystem across Japan, Singapore, USA, UK and Canada

- Work with product owner and development team managers in resource planning, platform services release & delivery planning.

- Provide regular progress update to senior managers and key stake holders.

- As Scrum Master participate in Scrum kick-offs, facilitate scrum meetings and daily scrums.

- Coach & mentor staff and stakeholders on agile & scrum principles to drive necessary alignment.

- Collaborate with development team, QA team, international business units to understand business needs, and drive consensus around priorities.

- Proactively anticipate, identify, manage and communicate project risks, issues, changes, etc.

- Ensure development teams are successful with implementing the features added to the system, working with the engineering & QA teams.

- Support continuous improvement by investigating root cause analysis and exploring alternatives

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or engineering from a top institution.

- Scrum Master Certification preferred.

Qualifications:

- Practical experience as a Scrum Master for at least 2 years.

- 5+ years project management experience in fast-paced product and service development. Experience in eCommerce domain is a plus.

- Well versed with Agile concepts & strong agile experience. Knowledge on best practices for Scrum and agile development.

- Awareness on well documented approaches & techniques for enabling Scrum (e.g., burn-down techniques, retrospectives, estimation techniques, backlog grooming etc).

- Should have worked with global teams. Strong Dev/QA background with software development experience.

- Strong results-oriented combined with excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills (including executive audiences).

- Effective collaboration with Development, QA and Product Management teams striking balance between agile deliveries while maintaining high performance team environment.

- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, continuous improvement and increasing transparency.
