Position : Project Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Job Purpose :

Work as conduit between R&D / Design House and Purchasing team and suppliers. Project execution within stipulated project milestones & target cost.

Span Of Control :

2~6 people (with Engg Background / MBA & work experience of 2~9 yrs)

Scope/Impact

- New Product Launches

- Product / Part development within stipulated period

- Cost competitiveness

- Meeting target deadlines wrt development, costing, design clearance

- People Management

- Supplier Management / Strategy

- To develop product meeting the desired quality within the agreed time frame.

- Manage good relationship with assigned design houses and address their concerns on immediate priority

- To address Vendor's queries well in time to have good vendor management

- Improve value chain

- Value stream mapping

Role :

Project Management : Deal with global/domestic Design Houses

- Team management

- Conduit between R&D, VD & Suppliers

Responsibility :

Project Management

- Multiple Project tracking and schedule management.

- Coordination with design houses and manage escalations

- MIS generation

- Escalation process Development of components

- Highlight technical and schedule risks in development

- Delivery of prototypes for validation tests and build events

- Ensuring timely parts availability for various models under progress

- Design freeze coordination with R&D, Design House and Supplier

- Proper handover to VD upon design freeze to VD as per SOP

New Supplier Evaluation & Supplier Selection

- Evaluating on capabilities like Design, Development, Manufacturing, Testing & other commercial/Business attributes, Assessment on QCD parameters.

Product/part Development :

- Development support for Concept to Design freeze (R&D/Suppliers)

- Manufacturing feasibility (Process expertise required)

- Suggest optimal process for manufacturing (Process expertise required)

- Negotiate with Design team and suppliers to achieve desired goals

- Prototypes part development

- Support various proto vehicle build and validation

- Mass Production Tooling development experience

- Budget cost submission

Understand Basics Of Costing Elements :

- Cost estimation

- Updated about cost trends in market

Supplier Management :

- Understanding about sourcing strategy & supplier selection in line

- Supplier relations

People Management :
