Main Duties/responsibilities Of The Role:

Summary of role

- This is a Project Manager role working within a major financial services organisation.

- The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills and will demonstrate knowledge and experience of applying them, ideally within the financial services sector.

- They will be expected to own the project from start to finish and will work either with a BA or on their own. Depending on the project size, they may also be required to perform business analysis tasks and UAT planning / coordination in addition to the standard PM tasks.

It will be the project manager's responsibility to:

- Fully define and scope the project, using a facilitative approach with in-house or external expertise

- Apply Prince 2/PMP tools and techniques to control and monitor projects including:

- Effective and accurate project planning

- Identification, recording and management of project risks and issues

- Deliver projects against pre-determined goals: Time, Quality, Resource

- Manage internal and external stakeholder input to projects and manage expectations of senior stakeholders

- Present project status to the various boards as required. Manage risks and escalations.

Required Skills:

- Demonstrable Project Management skills and experience including:

- Full understanding of the project life cycle with proven front to back ownership of multiple projects.

- Experience of coordinating of business analysis and UAT across multiple departments

- Understanding of quality assurance within a project

- Project or Program Management disciplines and techniques such as Prince 2/PMP

- Perform regular formal progress and status reporting.

- Effective communication skills when dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including the delivery of presentations to audiences of varied sizes.

- Ability to multi-task, working alone, and as part of a team.

- Experience in executing large SDLC programme including Agile methodologies

Advantageous :

- Experience working in the Wealth and IFA business.

- Knowledge and experience of financial IT systems and solutions and leading/defining IT implementation projects.

- Knowledge of Clearing & Settlement (UK Markets), Securities and Unit trust processing

- Skills in MS Project, MS Access, Quality Centre and Sharepoint would be advantageous.
