Job Title: Project Controller  Report To: Manager Analyst Team India  Job Function: Finance  Experience: 5 to 6 Years  Qualification: CA  Location: Navi Mumbai  Job Description:  - Key member of the Finance Transformation PMO and works directly with PMO and the project managers/transition managers of each large scale project to help define the project's goals and objectives; create and maintain the project's budget, analyze progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve progress  - Project controller to be involved in the planning of the business case (AR) for the new projects and help in finalizing overall cost of the service that will be provided for the project.  - Responsible for overseeing the financial health of the project by analyzing costs and risks. Will maintain budget tracking tools; work with core Finance with issuing/receiving invoices and billings for external contributors for the budgetary scope of the project.   - Depending on the size of project (small) and bandwidth, the controller may have to project controller duties of overseeing the daily financial activity of the smaller projects  - Along with providing support for the Finance transformation Project, Project controller will also assist BAOT controller with balance sheet and cost center analysis.  - Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems and performs financial analyses of business figures.   - Interprets financial data to determine past performance and/or to project the financial probability.   - Determines costs of the project operations and recommends adjustments as well as other cost improvement measures.   - Performs cost benefit analysis related to finance cost /or programs and assists in the finance transformation.   - Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.   Responsibilities:  - To support finance transformation project PMO by providing financial analysis and control support  - Help in defining Projects goal and objectives  - Closely works with Project managers for developing AR for the project  - Create and maintain project budget and overseeing financial health of the project  - Analyze progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve progress  - Perform expense audits for the project(s) to ensure that all expenses to the project are in compliance with the Finance policies  - Analytical support for BAOT  - Improvement in excel model for expat accounting and cost charge out  - Technical support for building new templates and excel models aligned with global accounting rules (10 golden rules) to replace old outdated models   - Analyze the major cost deviations against previous year and budget; includes analysis of major delta's and developments compared to PY and budget  - Actively interact with the functional controllers on common areas such as cost, cost allocation, process harmonization and reporting issues  - General & ad hoc analysis and control support  Level of Autonomy:  Controller role, MM2. Limited decisions to be made other than own work planning. Role expected to take charge of own responsibilities and take initiative to further enhance reporting using available tools and systems.  Challenges:  - Frequent interaction with Project managers and giving push backs to them if there is risk of budget overrun or delay in project completion within the agreed time frame and cost  - Working in international environment with different time zone (mainly India - Europe)  What must be done:  - Ensure analysis and reporting are aligned with HFM & AN BI numbers and hence be confident on his analysis and recommendation  - Ensure reporting is complete, clear and on time in full  - Aware about the cultural differences and quickly adapt himself with the new environment.  Job Requirement:  - Bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting or business administration  - 5+ years- experience as analyst or as controller in a business environment and/or functional area  - Strong analytic skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making  - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner  - Able to prioritize and work with multiple supervisors  - Strong - can-do- mentality and - drive- to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders  - Excellent knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse/Business Objects) and excellent Excel knowledge (power-user) as well as Hyperion (HFM) is a prerequisite  - Experience in - change management- in a finance environment  - Fluent in English, both verbal as well as in writing
