Project Contracts Manager - Infrastructure (12-18 yrs)

Position: Project Contracts Manager
Location: Project Offices across India
Overall purpose and objective of this position
To provide effective administration of the Contract services to the Head of the Project, Operations and Technical.
To be an extended arm of the Designated Contracts Administrator in the Project in executing the Function of Contracts & Risk.
Major responsibilities and function of this position
- To implement the Contract Administration function and process in the Project
- To monitor, control and escalate the contractual obligations to be maintained in the Project by the Project Team with Client and sub-contractors, vendors and other stake holders of the Project
- To prepare contractual correspondence with all stake holders of the project
- To monitor and advise the Minutes of Meetings and other commitments being made by the Organization in course of execution in line with the Contract
- To prepare, maintain, deliberate and escalate the Project Risk Log along with the Project Head at frequencies mentioned in the Contracts Process
- To prepare and integrate contractual Variations, Claims, EOT applications, Schedule updates in line with the Contract requirements
- To pursue with concerned stake holders on the submitted Claims and Variations
- To escalate and deliberate issues that may cause a risk for the Organization if accomplished or not accomplished.
Work experience, special training and / or level of education necessary for this position
Minimum 5 years of functional knowledge experience with an overall experience minimum of 12 years in World Bank Contracts/ ADB funded Contracts/Railway Contracts/ Road (NHAI/MoRTH) Contracts/ Hydro Power Contracts

Competencies required for the job
- Basic Technical Knowledge to understand the Business and Scope of Work. General understanding of the Commercial Conditions of Contract, Identify and assess the variances between agreed and actual conditions.
- Knowledge and hands on experience in operating a Indian moderated FIDIC Yellow / Red Book Conditions of Contract
- Reasonable Experience in good Contractual Correspondence, Dispute Resolution mechanisms like Conciliation, Adjudication and Arbitration
- Knowledge in Case laws pertaining to Indian Construction Contracts
- Knowledge and experience in preparing Extension of Time / prolongations cost related claims along with reasonable and independent understanding of Primavera / MS Project Schedules shall be preferred.
