Skills & experience includes:

- 7-8 years of relevant experience in product management, preferably in mobile industry

- Bachelors / Masters degree from a top-tier university such as IITs, IIMs, ISB, etc.

- International work experience or experience working in a multinational technology company a plus

- Demonstrably strong design sense

- Entrepreneurial spirit, not a "corporate person" and very outgoing, likeable, presentable, humble and naturally capable of easily interacting with others

- Native English and Hindi speaker. Chinese is plus

- Ability to think “outside the box” and solve problems on the fly

- Good eye for details with a “hands-on” and “can do” attitude

- Natural tinkerer, likes to play around with technology and build their own stuff whenever possible, enjoys coding and/or electronics projects purely for the fun of it

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Primary owner of the company's product experience in India, including devices and the UI Android platform

- Facilitate the certification process by researching local certification requirements (e.g. usually determined by the country's telecom regulator) and working closely with company's certification team on Type Approval and other local requirements

- Manage the legal and regulatory requirements for bringing products into the country

- Lead India’s device testing end-to-end, working with local vendors and carriers as needed and serving as the bridge to the BSP and UI teams

- Oversee any carrier customization requirements

- Own the localization of all UI features and apps, and coordinate local translation & localization efforts

- Work closely with the UI product management, engineering and UX teams to define, design and implement UI features for India

- Adviser to the e-commerce team to ensure local requirements are addressed

- Active managing and contributing member of the user forum, as well as other forums where Indian users might be discussing company's products and UI

- Support local launches in India as needed, including flashing devices, showing demos to local tech bloggers and media, conducting sales training of carrier and retail staff etc.
