Procurement & Project Management Officer - Shipping

Opening for the position of a Procurement and Project Management Officer in a Shipping Company.

Summary:

- Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of our internal and external clients’ business needs and operational dynamics together with industry trends and supplier capabilities in order to make tactical and strategic decisions, and develop solutions that create added value.

- You will be responsible for an allocated number of vessels and key stakeholders.

- You will be involved in various projects for both individual business units and across the Group.

- The position offers significant internal and external stakeholder contact as well as the opportunity to engage with a broad international network, therefore providing you with exciting challenges as well as excellent opportunities for career development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receiving, optimizing and processing lubricant orders

- Effectively manage vessel inventories, and ensure strategy and budget compliance

- Liaising with the vessel, agents, and suppliers to expedite deliveries as appropriate

- Order fulfillment and invoice matching

- Provision of 24/7 service availability

- Project management, particularly within supply-chain, but also wider category management projects impacting bottom line results.

- Actively contribute towards customer and team strategies.

Qualifications:

- You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience from a procurement position where you have also managed projects independently.

- You have a good understanding of and experience with supply chain optimization and like working with and resolving challenging situations and deliveries.

- You have most likely worked abroad for a period of time for a larger cooperation, and you probably have experience with lubes or with the marine industry already.

- As an individual, you are a self-starter, motivated by new challenges. You are a networker and enjoy having a broad network internally and externally.

- You have the ability to work independently and possess a solid sense of judgment and are comfortable with working with limited or uncertain information.

- You are a good negotiator with excellent analytical skills. Attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A global and intercultural perspective is of utmost importance as you will be working with colleagues and suppliers all over the globe.
