Position : Principal Data Engineer / Data Engineering Manager  Role : 2 (IC role and Hands on Manager)  Location : Chennai  Education : Graduate in Engineering/ Computers / Maths / Statistics / Physics / Masters / MBA preferably from premier institutes.  About the role :   We are seeking outstanding and forward-thinking Principal Data Engineer to help manage our ever-growing information needs and answer increasingly complex business questions. You will help us build and evolve our data infrastructure that process, transform and analyze data.   Core Responsibilities :   - Introduce best-in-class and innovative tools and techniques to deliver key metrics to drive customer loyalty and business performance  - Continually review new technologies and enhancements to intelligent data platform analytics  - Develop and drive the Platform Analytics agenda for each business area.  - Work with relevant stakeholders to deliver appropriate Business Intelligence (BI), data warehousing, reporting and analytical infrastructure required to support management teams and analysts.  - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the other engineers in the team.  - Work with large data sets, automate data extraction, build monitoring/reporting dashboards and high- value, automated BI solutions.  - Design, develop and establish KPIs to monitor analysis and provide strategic insights to drive growth and performance.  - Deliver data to business partners to optimize self-service and data discovery, using databases such as Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, and NoSQL databases  Qualifications :  - BS or MS in computer science, physics, math, engineering.  - Extensive experience with ETL technologies and best practices   - Practical experience with data integration tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend  - Expertise with large scale data warehouses such as Teradata and SQL databases such as MySQL or Postgres,   - Experience designing the data model for a large, high-volume data  - Expertise at tuning SQL to create efficient ETL processes and reports   - Knowledge about data warehouse best practices including star schemas, OLAP cubes, reporting services, and near real time data warehousing techniques   - Deep experience building data warehouses   - Ability to gather and interpret business requirements to formulate a technical solution   - Knowledge about or interest in learning more about big data technologies such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, and Pig   - Knowledge about or interest in learning more about NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and Neo4J   - Experience on atleast one data visualization tools (e.g. OBIEE, Tableau, QlikView)  - 5+ years of Java experience (Scala and Python experience is a big plus) and 2+ years with big data technologies: Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra, Spark  - Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborative environments   - Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies   - You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves: This role will evolve over time, and we- ll want you to evolve with it!  Joy (GlobalHunt) 8130413939
