Role : VP - Engineering (Core Team Member)

Managing the engineering team to deliver results on several key areas, including

- Development of SaaS inventory/purchase management solution

- Management and continuous upgrades of the e-commerce platform balancing, user experience and growth hacking requirements

- Building out the order management system and automating other key operational activities

Responsibilities:

- Handle a team of 4-10 engineers. Hire, train and mentor the engineering team.

- Work closely with the Product/Business managers to deliver on the product roadmap

- Discuss and lay out project specifications, make detailed plans to accomplish goals, and enable the engineering team to achieve those goals.

- Ensure technical accuracy of work, and manage releases smoothly to ensure seamless customer experiences on all platforms

What we are looking for:

Experience

5-10 years experience, including

- Experience in application development and/or engineering management roles

- Experience in top tier tech companies and/ or start-ups

- Exposure to SaaS/ Enterprise products will be a plus

Skillsets

- Strong learnability - ability to grasp new concepts and technology quickly, and play the role of an Individual contributor or a Manager as necessary

- Strong problem solving skills - Confidence to dive deep and understand newer problems, and arrive at solutions in double-quick time

- Bias towards action - ability to get things moving quickly, and perfect it over a period of time

- Understanding of web, mobile and SaaS technologies

- Strong project management skills

- Good grasp of Magento, PHP, MySQL (current systems), and the latest web and mobile technologies

Education

- BE/BTech/ MS/ MTech in Computer Science or related streams, from top universities/ colleges

A glimpse of the key focus areas for current product development:

- Mobile app development for enterprise usage

- Software-as-a-Service product development - Supply Chain Management software for healthcare industry

- Integration of the product with other third party products - hospital management solutions, ERP systems of hospitals, Vendor inventory management systems and so on

- Recommendation engines based on big data analytics (trends, consumption patterns, supplier pricing patterns, etc), which would lead to savings for the customers

- User rights administration, and User adoption management for enterprise products (multiple levels of users)

- Internal products: A sophisticated order management system for a managed marketplace, and an inventory planning module for the e-commerce platform, with big data analytics capabilities, to optimize costs in a highly complex and unorganized market

We run a B2B e-commerce platform based on open source technologies and a cloud-based inventory/purchase management solution. As these two solutions mature, we would be in a place to enable hospitals/clinics to outsource their non-core functions of purchase/material management to us, while they focus on their core functions around patient care.
