Pearl Academy - Vice President - Online Business Head (10-15 yrs)

This role is responsible for the online business unit of Pearl Academy i.e. Pearl Live.

- The Head will provide effective leadership in the online space managing profitability goals for existing products, launching new products/initiatives, ensuring academic quality and managing stakeholder relationships.

- The incumbent will be responsible for product innovation, customer acquisition, customer service and fulfillment.

- He/she will take technology leadership in the online education area with a view to optimize student learning and operational excellence including identification, development and rollout of appropriate cost efficient technologies.

- This highly responsible professional will be a key driver and contributor in developing objectives and strategies for providing business planning and management across platforms to deliver results, drive future growth and brand recognition.

Product Development:

- Coordinate day-to-day product management activities for the business to ensure revenue and budget goals are met.

- Collaborate closely with Product Development and Academic leadership teams across institutions to drive product / program quality and overall student experience.

- Perform and coordinate research (customer, market, competition and distribution channel analysis) related to strategy development and execution.

- Design, re-design processes and policies to enhance education delivery from faculty, for delivering the best education to the students

Business Operations and Relationship Management:

- Manage key stakeholder relationships, set strategic direction and partnership development agenda, provide update on performance, and act as escalation path for operational issues.

- Successfully work across key departments/businesses to reach agreement on initiatives while keeping other Departments/businesses informed; solve issues on projects in cooperation and collaboration across divisions

- Cultivate effective business relationships with key stakeholders, management, customers and peers.

- Work collaboratively with functional area colleagues on implementing product strategy and launching new products including Laureate Global programs.

- Ensuring all coordination followed with institutional affairs department to ensure timely approvals from statutory bodies.

Leadership:

- Optimize growth and profitability of multiple product verticals

- Develop and lead strategic projects that arise from an in depth understanding of the audience and the market

- Overall business leadership for all programs; manage program specific operations to ensure wellness of the current portfolio of products

- Promote high standard of business ethos in the program and also ensure most effective use of resources in supporting/ achieving the learning objectives of the program.

- Overall assistance to faculty in implementation of effective teaching tools such as case method, innovative teaching learning practices etc.

- Work in time bound, deadline driven environment while not compromising on quality.

- Provides thought leadership in the online space.

Brand Management:

- Identify, recommend, and develop plans for potential market opportunities for the brand

- Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams across institutions to drive inquiries, conversions, and enrollments.

Education/ Experience:

- MBA with a minimum experience of 15 years general management or product management experience. Prior P&L experience with budget management experience required.

- Marketing experience essential. Preferred to have in-depth understanding of the higher education industry in order to provide educated recommendations to management on direction, profitability, and ROI for new and existing programs.
