Role Definition: (Broad Definition of roles)

- Complete Responsibility/Supervision of Month End Closing, US GAAP Reporting, Account Payables and FA

Role Responsibilities: (Detailed activities)

Accounting:

- Responsible for leading the financial reporting, general ledger management and account payable function.

- Ensure generation of timely and accurate financial data, driving the monthly, quarterly and year-end account closing process and timely production of monthly financial reports

- Ensure that all policies related to capex and operating expenses are complied with and appropriate documentation is maintained for transaction

- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, policies and procedures

- Direct and control various aspects of financial reporting and payable functions, preferably in a SAP environment. Working knowledge of Tally will be an advantage. Hands-on exposure to Indian & US GAAP requirements.

- Review all month-end closing activities including balance sheet reconciliations & schedules and corporate/overhead cost allocation.

- Accounting for capital expenditure and capital work-in-progress. Hands-on experience in Balance Sheet accounting and controls.

- FAR maintenance & periodic verification & reconciliation

- Maintaining customer relationships with Laureate AMEA Finance Team.

- Ensure smooth conduct of statutory and internal audits and liason with auditors to achieve timely completion of audit

Processes:

- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems

- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures around AP & financial reporting

FP&A:

- Work closely with FP&A function in analysis of budget and forecast variances

Strategy:

- Transition the Tally-led accounting operations into a SAP-led process.

Team Management:

- Champions development and people capability, benchmark against the highest standards, identifies and anticipates future skills and capability requirements

- Hires and develops highest caliber people

Educational Qualifications/Experience:

Educational Qualifications: Chartered Accountant

Academic / Technical: MS-Office, Emails, ERP (Preferably SAP)

Experience: 6-8 years

- Person should have worked with Large/Midsize Indian Corporate or US MNCs in India.
