Pearl Academy - Finance Controller (8-13 yrs)
Accounting :
- Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of managing a small accounting team
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Direct and control various aspects of financial accounting, receivables and payable functions, preferably in a SAP environment. Working knowledge of Tally will be an advantage. Hands-on exposure to Indian & US GAAP requirements.
- Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports –
- Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements.
- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
- Accounting for capital expenditure and capital work-in-progress.Hands-on experience in Balance Sheet accounting and controls.
- Lead compliance with federal and state-level tax and regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.Hands-on exposure to domestic and international transfer-pricing is an added advantage.
- Experience working with not-for-profit entities (e.g. societies and Section 25 companies) is an added advantage.
- Maintaining customer relationships with Asia Region Financial Controller and Corporate Accounting team in Baltimore, USA.
- Finalization of key customer and vendor negotiations and contract structuring
- Handling management, internal and statutory auditOversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships. Maximize return, and limit risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
Processes :
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
FP&A :
- Support the FP&A function in analysis of budget and forecast variances.
Strategy :
- Integration of new campuses and entities into the existing Finance and Accounts organization.
- Transition the Tally-led accounting operations into a proposed SAP-led process.
- Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
- Driving cost and budgetary controls and various management efficiency initiatives including benchmarking and cost optimization
Educational Qualifications/Experience :
Educational Qualifications : Chartered Accountant
Academic / Technical : Ms-Office, Emails
Experience : 10-15 years
Person should have worked in larger more institutionalized private universities or with small to midsized US MNCs in India.
