Ola integrates city transportation for customers and driver partners onto a mobile technology platform ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfillment. Ola is committed to its mission of building mobility for a billion people. Using the Ola mobile app, users across 110 cities can book from a variety of vehicles across cabs, auto-rickshaws and taxis. Ola has also introduced a range of shared mobility services on its platform like Ola Shuttle and Ola Share for commute and ride-sharing respectively. The app is available on Windows, Android and iOS platforms. Roles and Responsibilities: Category Head would be the custodian of P&L (topline and bottom line growth) for the category(ies) Pan India - Build category as a Centre of Excellence - Identify and build category differentiators - Develop a differentiated channel and customer strategy for the category - Institute strong processes on demand/supply side to enable execution in operations unit - Define principles for improving profitability without compromising on growth - Refine the pricing strategy in collaboration with the city teams - Lead a team of category managers, business analysts etc. to lead both the supply and demand aspect of categories Category Head's Key Result Areas would include the following: - Category strategy and design: Assess market potential, customer insights, need identification and segmentation, category positioning and value proposition vs competition and substitutes, competition tracking, product design and innovations across the customer lifecycle, Pricing guidelines, Supply insights and segmentation, Category experience design on the app and website, guidelines on incentive design - Topline growth (including category awareness, market penetration, increasing frequency of usage and LTV) and customer experience management - Develop a medium term roadmap for the category - Work on long-term structural bottom line improvements (including utilisation, incentive structures, fixed cost reduction etc.) Experience & Skills: - Strong understanding of the target segment, in-depth problem solving, data driven decision-making and long-term thinking - Handled operations and P&L for a relatively large sized organisation - Experience in leading cross functional projects - Strong analytical skills - Very strong on business operations fundamentals - Ability to question status quo and Strong in influencing and driving change behaviours - Believes in enterprise success through collaboration and making others succeed - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Qualifications - The Ideal candidate would be a top-performer in industries such as E-commerce, Telecom, Consumer Durables or FMCG, with 10+ years of experience and would have held P&L responsibilities for a category, division / business unit. - This could be either (a) Industry experience in sales, marketing, category management or business development roles or (b) a mix of relevant consulting background and industry experience. - MBA degree from a premier institute (Only) Quick Glances: - What to look for at Ola? - Ola-Story A brief on how we have grown and come so far. - Ola-Mission and Vision Know us better - Ola-Media Visit our media page
