Role: Statistical Modeller (Advanced Analytics)
Location: Hyderabad
Responsibilities:
- Develop statistical models such as customer segmentation, acquisition, retention and pricing.
- Programming and Modeling experience is mandatory.
- Apply appropriate techniques, such as exploratory data analysis, regression, bootstrapping, trees, cluster analysis, survival analysis and so on.
- Develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on rigorous data analysis.
- Partner with Marketing product managers to understand business problems and marketing strategies.
- Partner with IT to implement models and test cases.
- This role has a very limited scope of people management as the team encompasses of hands on modelers who independently work on a given business problem and assume the roles of problem architect, modeler, consultant depending on the need of the project.
Skills:
Data Manipulation, at Scale
- Databases and the relational algebra
- Parallel databases, parallel query processing, in-database analytics
- MapReduce, Hadoop, relationship to databases, algorithms, extensions, languages
- Key-value stores and NoSQL; tradeoffs of SQL and NoSQL
- Entity resolution, record linkage, data cleaning
Analytics
- Basic statistical modeling, experiment design, introduction to machine learning, overfitting
- Supervised learning: overview, simple nearest neighbor, decision trees/forests, regression
- Unsupervised learning: k-means, multi-dimensional scaling
- Graph Analytics: PageRank, community detection, recursive queries, iterative processing
- Text Analytics: latent semantic analysis
- Collaborative Filtering: slope-one
Communicating Results
- Visualization, data products, visual data analytics
- Provenance, privacy, ethics, governance
