Client Details

Our client is an American Multi-national Company operating in the Surgical Medical Devices segment. India is a key market for them and are growing rapidly with an astounding 2016. They are looking to launch a couple of new products in 2017 and are looking to hire a National Sales Manager to lead a team of 75+ across levels. This position is accountable for directing and implementing the strategies in order to meet company targets for account retention, growth and profitability. Provide key leadership to the sales teams.

Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager (Country Head), your key responsibilities will be to:

- Develop and implement strategic sales plans incorporating the development of business-building initiatives, campaigns and events, to achieve business objectives and drive revenue growth whilst working closely with the leadership team

- Build a competent, professional sales team by leading, coaching and mentoring to ensure best performance. Implement a structured strategic account planning program and sales skill development program to drive sales effectiveness

- Prepare and update sales budgets, regularly reporting on performance against target and providing variance analyses and revised projections

- Monitor sales performance and selling expenses

- Negotiate major deals and maintaining key customer contacts at senior level

- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (marketing, finance, clinical education and operations teams, by providing advice and support and building strong relationships with external KOLs and key influencers to improve business strategies in line with overall business plans

- Work closely with Marketing Manager to manage conferences and exhibitions, including planning and driving strategy for product launches

- Develop and manage the pricing/product strategy, value discount policies and develop ROI analysis and tracking in conjunction with the General Manager in relation to budgets and forecasts

- Conduct all business activities according to applicable State laws, rules and regulations and observe all company policy and procedures to ensure ethical standards and compliance obligations are met.

Profile

The candidate must have had extensive sales and team management experience in the Medical Device industry.

- Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Science, Engineering or related discipline. MBA is an advantage.

- More than 15 years of relevant sales experience with at least 8 years experience in a sales management role with multinational healthcare companies in India

- Track record of achieving sales and business objectives

- Strong leadership and management skills with excellent ability to develop, motivate and sustain a high performance team

- Ability to exercise sound business judgement and discretion in treatment of sensitive information

- Flexible and approachable personality with hands-on approach, combining strong technical expertise with a commercial perspective and focus

- Enthusiasm and drive, highly motivated and a self-starter

- Excellent relationship building skills

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Excellent presentation skills both oral and written

- Refined negotiation skills and ability to deal/ relate with customers, government bureaucracy and external service agencies, as well as internal stakeholders

- Able to undertake extensive travel throughout India
