Category Solutions Business Analyst:

This role is responsible for formulating recommendations on the category-specific shopping experience, by partnering with category management, technology, and product development teams to implement these recommendations. As a category solutions business analyst for multiple categories, you will support the business owner in developing a clear strategy and business rationale for offering customer-centric features, for a quality customer experience, and focusing specifically on mobile.

The ideal candidate will develop a deep understanding of customer needs and build that into the shopping experience for the category and portal. He or she will support the business manager, and build a detailed understanding of the business requirement and demonstrate ability to quickly get to the root cause of a particular business issue, and draft data-driven solutions to meet requirements or resolve the root problems. He or she must be enthusiastic about managing complex projects with multiple moving parts and stakeholders across multiple teams, and must be comfortable working with large amounts of data to make decisions and build business cases.

Responsibilities

- Work towards improving category shopping experience through technology enabled features

- Develop in-depth understanding of categories and customer needs and pain points & deep dive into analysis of consumer behaviors & trends, by reviewing the internal & external data

- Conduct market research for an assigned topic to dig out relevant data and insights

- Conduct analysis for assigned business problem by collecting data from internal and external sources and perform analysis to get answers to business questions.

- Ensure complete data instrumentation, measurement, analysis and reporting to support business decisions

- Identify, define, collect, and track key business metrics that impact overall goals

- Pull data required to conduct business analysis, build reports, dashboards and metrics to monitor the performance

- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.

- Independently identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business

- Communicate key metrics and business trends to the management team

- Put together excel models for business scenario analysis

Basic qualifications, required for any business analyst:

- 2+ years of relevant experience

- MBA from Tier-1 B Schools

- Proficiency in Excel and with running SQL queries

- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

- Strong Analytical Skills and Process Orientation, with strong attention to detail

- Self-directed focus and ability to prioritize within an ambiguous environment

- Ability to execute and follow through on high-quality output, with limited oversight

- Willingness to respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders

Preferred qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience, with some ecommerce, product management, or consulting experience

- Experience in web analytics tools (GA, Omniture)
