Position Overview:

MSCI ESG Research has a suite of ESG research products designed to meet all the needs of institutional investors from investment decision making, to norms and business activities based screening. These consist of world-class rating and screening models and IT tools for portfolio management, which allows users to track and identify ESG, related reputational and financial risks to their portfolio.

Responsibilities:

- Expand and improve existing product set by identifying new product or service opportunities, working with key internal and external stakeholders and driving the product planning process

- Identify ways to improve the efficiency, coverage and quality of the existing product and research production process.

- Coordinate changes to the production process required for new product offerings.

- Coordinate with other functional groups - Application Development, Data Management and Research

- Participates in strategic cross-functional sessions aimed at developing long term project/program mandates

- Align cross functional resources to support the creation, launch and maintenance of key products and services

- Establishes close associations with business sponsors, business analysts, researchers, development leads

- Creates and maintains project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, statuses, and resource allocations.

- Preparing written specifications required by software engineers and data analysts to build or enhance the product lines and ensure products offered are within established requirements

- Monitors quality and productivity metrics to ensure continuous improvement

- Responds to both internal and client research inquiries. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities

- Determines appropriate cost recognition, ensures timely and accurate internal reporting

- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

- Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects.

Desired experience and qualification:

- Minimum of 2 years managing medium scale technology or data oriented projects across functional groups

- MBA in business, finance or B-Tech Computer Science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree is a plus

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills

- Outstanding verbal and written communication to facilitate team and business sponsor meetings effectively

- Appreciation for new trends in technology like Machine Learning/NLP is a plus.
