Meru is in search of a senior legal resource having sound understanding of the contractual laws/regulations, civil & criminal laws, capital market related issues with good commercial and business orientation. The role reports into the CEO and will have two direct reportees.  Role :  - Lead legal cases of the company and guide management on potential risk.  - Select legal counsel appropriate to the legal case and drive the outcome in appropriate courts in the country  - To represent the company in case of all civil & criminal litigation cases  - Prepare and finalize all legal contracts of the company with various parties and forum.   - Lead company as a compliance officer to ensure compliance with all applicable laws of the company  - To ensure safekeeping of legal documents as per established company practices   - Scrutinizing and sketching various compliance policies.   - Formulate and manage the compliance calendar  The ideal incumbent must have :  - LLB from Cat 1 law schools.  - Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Legal & Compliance team of a dynamic corporate setup/Law firm.  - Experience in leading the team of junior legal professionals  - Excellent domain skills required for delivering the job responsibility in Civil, Criminal and Corporate legal work  - Mandatory experience in handling litigation  - Good stakeholder management experience - CEO, CFO, Internal Business Leaders etc.  Expectations from the incumbent :  The person should have an ability to understand a business situation and guide management on legal strategy to be followed for the company. This is a mid-management position hence the person should have an ability to lead the discussion to the conclusion and must have an ability to deal with multi-disciplinary people in the organization.
