Job Title: Mechanical Group Leader Band -60 (Senior Manager)

Job Purpose
The Group Leader reports to the head of the department.
Together with the department manager he determines the strategy of the department, related to the business plans. The Group Leader receives delegated responsibilities from the department manager, in the area of Competence Development (technical & non-technical), hiring & recruitment, coaching, processes, department strategies, resource / people management, etc.
Key Areas of responsibility
- Co-determines the department objectives and its related responsibilities based on the business plan.
- Replaces department manager during absence
- Is co-responsible for the definition, maintenance and monitoring execution of processes and methods (department level and related business processes), at the required quality level
- Manages process & tooling/method development (improvement) projects
- Is co-responsible for the competence & skill development for department (training, coaching)
- Keeps up to date with technical and organizational developments and takes part actively in contacts within other department
- Is responsible for benchmarking the department’s knowledge and expertise
- Ensures that there is good co-operation with other disciplines and departments
- Co-responsible for appropriate personnel management (recruitment, appraisal, selection, manpower, career),
Job knowledge, skills and experience
- Master/Bachelor in mechanical engineering or other related discipline
- Preferably 10+ years of experience
- Knowledgeable on the Engineering profession
- Experience in resource management and people development
- Communicative: able to adapt to different stakeholders
- Knowledge and understanding of other disciplines with which co-operation takes place.
- Leadership, people/resource management and teambuilding skills
- Coaching skills
- Helicopter view
