Mauj Mobile - Marketing & Communications Manager (5-8 yrs)

- Mauj Mobile and Mobango are looking for a smart Marketing communications specialist with about 5 – 8 years of relevant experience. The role involves marketing Mauj and Mobango both to the business partners and to its users.

- Mauj Mobile is a mobile first company that is in the business of developing and marketing market places for entertainment content. The content is distributed over premium app stores that are billed over operator billing (premium video stores, premium games stores, premium entertainment stores etc). Or the content is distributed over free app store – Mobango that is owned and developed by Mauj Mobile. Mauj and Mobango boast over 15 million unique users on a monthly basis with majority of the users being from India.

- Mauj Mobile including Mobango has seen strong revenue and market share traction over the last 2 years. Now in order to consolidate its presence by building strong recognizable D2C brands, it wishes to hire a marketing guru who understands digital. The key challenge is how to create Mauj or Mobango as a brand that has high recall amongst our Target user segments (who are typically Android users in India) and position Mauj and Mobango as credible alternate stores in users mind for their favourite content that includes apps, games and videos.

Being a market place business, the other side of the coin are app developers, content producers, telecom operators who support our products. Marketing to this ecosystem involves engaging with senior stakeholders in these organizations, creating top of mind recall amongst content owners and developers that Mobango and Mauj need to be in their list of preferred partners for content distribution and monetization.

Marketing to users: social platforms and search:

- With a large and global user base, marketing the services for users over the various social platforms such as facebook, twitter, google+, pinterest, youtube and others as well as write & manage the blog. The candidate needs to have a good grounding on social media marketing. Candidate should also come in with an understanding of search marketing.

- Appropriate use of display marketing (including retargeting) also to be part of the marketing tools. Effectively leverating PR, tactical events etc could also be part of the marketing mix that is required. The candidate needs to have extensive experience around these tools and have tons of opinion on how to do effective consumer brand building on digital platforms.

Marketing to partners, developers:

- The key business partners for Mauj and Mobango include global developer community, its content partners , distribution partners, telecom partners and so on. Partner marketing will take the form of global event marketing, email marketing, senior stakeholder marketing and the like. The role will require the manager to reach out to the global developer community and engage with them.

- The role involves marketing to this global community of users using relevant social media - linkedin, email marketing, developer blogs and other emerging ways of consumer marketing in digital world. For developer blogs, it is expected that the candidate have a good understanding of the mobile / digital ecosystem and can write content with limited support from other business and operational teams.

- Event marketing is a key component of partner marketing. There are about 6-10 global significant events where candidate has to work on marketing the company, the key spokespersons at these events. These will include building relationship with the key event organizers so that appropriate speaking opportunities are exploited.

- The role will also involve working with limited set of publications, online blogs, thought leaders to get global PR for Mauj and Mobango. Developing and maintaining relationships with the editors of these blogs and publications is key requirement.
