ROLE : Business Development Director - CPG
REPORTS TO : Executive Vice President & General Manager - CPG
EXPERIENCE : 11 – 14 years
EDUCATION : MBA from a frontline Business School
LOCATION : Bangalore, India
This is a key leadership role that will assist in building/creating Manthan’s market position in the CPG industry and will play a crucial influencing role in helping the organization understand, serve and monetize CPG initiatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching CPG industry and related events, publications, announcements, tracking independent companies and their accomplishments
- Assist the organization in understanding CPG needs and tailoring relevant Products and Services to such unique needs
- Work closely by evangelizing with Product and Service teams to ensure the “Manthan CPG Value proposition” is well understood, defined and delivered
- Coordinate, track and update the CPG pipeline and CRM process
- Key liaison to HQ Path Finder team (Manthan’s Inside Sales Team) by providing hands on assistance and relevant knowledge in penetrating targeted CPG clients
- Locate/propose potential business deals by contacting potential clients discovering and exploring business opportunities
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials
- Assists in the creation, execution and enhancements for the Manthan CPG Marketing plan
- Conducts detailed research to understand CPG market/client trends and recommends actions to be taken that best position Manthan as the indispensable business partner for CPG clients
- Recommend changes, enhancement’s and/or new additions to CPG products and services
- Be a key company’s spokesperson at industry conferences & events, evangelize the portfolio with industry analysts, maintaining personal networks etc
KEY PRE-REQUISITES FOR THE ROLE:
- Ideally possess green field business development experience
- Would have held at least two leadership positions
- Possess strong direct CPG industry skills as a manufacturer and/or supplier of market knowledge
- Exposure to knowledge of SaaS type offerings and Analytic Services would be a significant plus
- Possess above average communication, presentation, logical reasoning skills and ability to collaborate with teams across time-zones and cultures. Also should possess demonstrated active listening skills and should be highly consultative and solutions oriented
- Possess the entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
- Would have demonstrated abilities of working in a matrix organization
- Is a self motivated Sales professional intimately familiar with Prospecting, Sales Planning and Strategic selling/deal closure
- Understands pipeline management and knowledge in CRM systems
- Is an expert on the complete suite of MS Business applications
- Enjoys working with facts and figures – also understands essentials of finance
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and a “go getter” attitude
- This role call for frequent international travel which could be up to two weeks at a time
