Location : Malaysia  Job Purpose :   To maintain books of accounts, adequate internal control processes and comply statutory requirements.   Responsibility for managing independently the finance and accounts function which involves the following activities:   - Responsible for book keeping and smooth functioning of finance function.  - Book keeping and maintenance of accounting records; monthly book closing and preparation of MIS.  - Set internal controls and processes and responsible for implementing standard operating practice (SOP) for various processes.  - Work closely with the tech team for ERP system improvements & enhancements.  - Coordination with Auditors for statutory, Internal and adhoc audits and with Tax Agents for tax returns and compliance matters.  - Ensure that the company complies with group requirements in reporting of management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts, audit of accounts and evaluation of capex.  - Accounting and monitoring of fixed assets and safeguarding with sufficient insurance cover at all times.  - Participation in the company annual Budget and Business plan  - Responsible for timely fee collection from student as per the due dates and reporting overdue status to Management at regular intervals.  - Monitor vendor payments based on due dates and optimize utilization of funds.  - Processing payroll disbursement and staff claims as per approved policies.  - Ensuring all types of legal, statutory and secretarial compliance relating to the operations of the organisation.  - Handling the student and parents queries  - Handling of new projects and upcoming projects  Critical Accountabilities :   - Set-up easy to understand processes and establish effective controls to ensure maximum support to growth  - Accurate and timely closing the books and reporting of MIS and recommend appropriate changes to the Management   - Ensure Statutory and regulatory Compliance   - Statutory, Internal and other Audits.   Skills, Knowledge & Competencies :   - Chartered Accountant with 5+ years experience in service or other industry having sound accounting knowledge, current accounting practices and international accounting standards   Skills and Knowledge :   - Should have working knowledge of Indian GAAP, IFRS, Tax Laws, Legal matters.  - Should have excellent written and communication skills  - Should have good interpersonal skills and should be able to communicate at all levels with the Company and also other Group Companies  - Very good knowledge of information systems, particularly SAP and other ERP software. Proficiency in the use of MS word, Excel and PowerPoint
