Job Role: US GAAP Reporting

Location of Posting: Gurgaon

Total Years of Experience:7-9 years of US GAAP Experience; Insurance industry experience preferable

Minimum Qualification: University Graduate

Professional Qualification : Chartered Accountant (MUST)

Flexible to work in shifts (APAC / EMEA / US)

Experience:

Technical:

- Experience of delivering diverse financial information requirements in a complex organisation

- Operational experience with U.S. GAAP and IFRS

- Knowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley is an advantage

- Preferable experience in accounting &reporting in P&C insurance industry

- Experience in Reconciliations and posting various transactions - accruals, provisions, bank statement, inter company etc.

- Reconciliations including the sub ledger to the general ledger, asset classes and other classifications required for Upstream, US GAAP reporting.

- Significant and complex financial analysis of activities, projects and plans

- In depth understanding of the financial services industry including current issues, trends and developments

- Good understanding of the key financial drivers for the region

- In depth understanding of the regulatory environment in the finance sector

- Deal with all other ad hoc reporting requirements that occurs

- Ability to listen well and comprehend, good customer service attitude to clearly articulate the resolution.

- Must demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, energy and flexibility

- Ability to handle varied volumes of workloads and to reach targets and deadlines on a timely basis

- Prior work experience in a multinational organisation and matrix reporting structure

Key Accountabilities (Please specify the Activity list of the Incumbent):

- Prepare and review routine & recurring journal / accounting entries, accruals

- Prepare non compliance routine & recurring journal / accounting entries

- Complete data quality checks on system / GL close

- Manage close calendar & execute system / GL close activities

- Prepare, review and approve business segment journal entries

- Responsible for preparation offinancials statements/ GAAP quests (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) and reporting giving insight to the key performance indicators under US GAAP including analytics

- Responsible for ensuring that work is delivered is fully compliant with the required policies and procedures, and meets KPI's outlined.

- Offer advanced professional knowledge of US GAAP financial accounting practices and principles over all areas of finance

- Manage and control the preparation of the Year-End packs, submissions for consolidated accounts and the associated timetable for all Group entities

- Build and maintain reporting formats and hierarchies

- Maintain a strong financial control infrastructure

- Understand the core processes and areas of risk within the business area and work with the management team to mitigate them

- Assist with the month-end accrual process

- Prepare variance analysis and supporting schedules on Balance Sheet accounts

Required Skills:

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management.

- Ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships, influencing and challenging as required.

- Understanding and knowledge of the drivers of business performance.

- The ability to work in a global environment with a strong customer focus, with experience of pro-actively working with demanding customers in a flexible manner.

- Proven staff management skills & strong team leadership, with the ability to direct and motivate staff

- Innovative and always looking for continuous improvement in order to develop succession plan for staff

IT Skills:

- Previous experience working on an accounting platform such SAP or Computron.

- Excellent working knowledge on MS-Excel. MS-Access knowledge is desirable
