Job Knowledge / certification :
Hands-on technical knowledge in all major machining processes
High level of knowledge about inspection methods / equipments including CMM
Strong structured analysis & problem solving ability for machined componants
Good process knowledge about raw materials like casting, forging etc.
Applied knowledge of Quality management Systems, Certified lead auditor for ISO 9001 is preferred
Six sigma certification is preferred
Knowledge about Lean manufacturing methods is required
Knowledge about calibration methods for precision instruments
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Improvement in quality of precision machined parts manufactured in shop
Reduction of rejection level
Carry out analysis & implement effective corrective actions for quality issues
Ensure that no deviations are passed on to assembly from machine shop
No failure of machined parts in field
Ensure compliance with drawing / specification requirements during machining process
Manage CMM equipment, calibration laboratory
GENERAL TASKS
Monitor timely & accurate inspection of machined parts
Review inspection results & take necessary actions
Process audits as per plan
Analysis of non-conformities & implement corrective, preventive actions
Monitor operation of CMM Equipment, calibration laboratory
Monitor inspection of raw material like castings
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Quantitative Qualitative
Reduction in machined parts DPPM level Adherence to quality improvement programs
Reduction in field complaints related to machined parts Involvement of shop team members in Quality improvements
Number of process improvements carried out in machine shop
