The first major breakthrough was the synthetic production of oxytocin and vasopressin in 1961. With further growth and expansion, the headquarters moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, and subsequently to Saint-Prex, Switzerland. In February 2012, the company held over 4,500 employees with manufacturing facilities in Europe, South America, China and was also building two new facilities in the US and in India. Products are used in reproductive health, gastroenterology, urology, orthopeadics and endocrinology.
Position: Manager Purchase (equivalent to a Head role)
Reports to: Director - Finance
Direct Reports: 1 – Assistant Manager
Location: Mumbai
Role:
1. Plan and implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs, leverage spend at the appropriate level and maximise value delivery. Investigate and re-engineer wherever appropriate, all processes and systems within procurement to deliver the procurement strategy and action plan.
2. Sourcing of raw material, packing material and indirect purchase (marketing/ promotional material etc.) for Marketing & Sales and R&D
3. Vendor identification and evaluation techniques. Develop and implement an approved supplier list, introduce vendor assessment techniques to measure performance and quality of supply.

Education:
- Graduate in any discipline, preferably with a post graduate degree/diploma in materials management, import-export management
