The Patent Search and Analytics Practice Manager will be responsible for managing the U.S, & Europe  Patent Search & Analytics functions in the Life Sciences domain for existing as well as new customers. The role requires overseeing patent search and analytics staff based in India. Quality control and direct, handson supervision of search and analytics processes connected with US & EP patents are key responsibilities.  The candidate is expected to function as a mentor and a subject matter expert (SME) for a large team in the Patent Search and Analytics business unit in India. The candidate should be able to manage service delivery, client relationships and internal stakeholder management for effectively functioning of the unit. Should have the ability to achieve best in class service levels, high client satisfaction and deliver continuous improvement.  The role requires the candidate to develop and manage an expert center in different technology areas, independently lead farming initiatives, develop new client contacts, expand existing client accounts by regular follow-ups and by ascertaining their IP needs, identify new support services and implement client centric solutions with high quality. The role also requires the candidate to provide support to the Sales team by providing IP based market analysis and by coming up with new domain led solutions. As a leader of the delivery team, the candidate should help the team with process and technology specific supervision on specific technology areas and provide overall project guidance. The candidate should have knowledge of US and EP patent laws and should be able to deliver work without supervision. Run and manage project, client, team, business, and process specific parameters and share the dashboards on performance with all stakeholders.  3. Provide direction and guidance to the team members to ensure expected productivity, cycle time, and excellent accuracy in all projects. Responsible for overall quality, time upkeep, work allocation, and 100 % utilization of team members.  4. Responsible for P&L delivery on both revenue and cost parameters on a monthly basis.  5. Work with technical specialists and technical resources to align the client/ project requirements with deliverables.  6. Run effective proposals and find/ fix revenue leakages/ scope creeps to bridge the client expectations and team efforts.  7. Develop and execute knowledge center, process expertise, quality check model  8. Lead specialized assignments and projects requiring high level of proficiency and judgment. Consistently share expertise with others, and explain technical concepts. Generate novel and valuable ideas and uses these ideas to develop new processes, methods, and systems.  9. Participate and manage hiring process as per business requirements  10. Identify training needs and plan trainings as per training calendar to enhance overall knowledge level and adherence to processes.  11. Work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to available resources. Ability to work independently on assigned projects including creating and supporting processes to support the projects.  12. Constantly coach team members to enhance performance and improve productivity.  13. Perform patent search, analytics, licensing support work such as knock out search, patentability search, invalidity search, freedom to operate search, landscape search, infringement search, HML ranking, patent categorization, evidence of use preparation etc. independently and guide the team as a subject matter expert  14. Communicate effectively with all internal stakeholders - team members, management team and other stakeholders in corporate functions.  Qualification  - PhD, M.Sc/M.Tech/M.Pharm- Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Bioinstrumentation, Biochemistry, Plant Science and other domain related to Life sciences
