Manager - Licensing Compliance (5-10 yrs)

Title: Manager, Licensing Compliance

Responsibilities will include:

The Manager, Licensing Compliance, under the direction of the Manager of exam management on shore, will develop and implement processes and controls to ensure licensing compliance with states, federal regulators and agencies. The position will report indirectly to the senior manager of exam management and licensing on-shore. The position will include analysis of state license, mortgage loan originator, NMLS, and agency requirements, as well as interpretation of renewal questions related to litigation and background information on individuals, officers and the company. The Manager will also oversee the timely and accurate filing of Mortgage Call Reports. The position will assist in managing the licensing compliance team, while working closely with counsel and the onshore manager of licensing and compliance in fulfilling the licensing requirements and status reporting. This position may also participate in projects within the compliance department.

Key Result Areas:

- Oversee the work of the licensing team, offshore paralegals, and administrators

- Ensure timely and accurate filings for license applications, renewals and related activities for multiple legal entities, including coordination of financial statements, financial bonds, continuing education and payment of fees

- Ensure timely filings to meet due dates

- Manage control structure for information required in filings

- Coordinate with on shore manager and senior manager of regulatory exam activity as required

- Review disclosures for periodic certifications for GSE's and Agency approvals

- Interpret state licensing requirements; coordinate with internal / outside counsel as needed

- Prepare and/or review reports to senior management on licensing status

- Oversee licensing and corporate projects, such as sales and acquisitions

- Assist in other compliance or research projects as needed

- Identify and support business initiatives which have licensing impacts to ensure compliance

- Work closely with the on-shore exam management and licensing team

Qualifications: (Requirements for the position)

- Bachelor’s degree;

- Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in mortgage servicing, mortgage originations, or consumer finance industry required

- Experience in mortgage origination, servicing and debt collection licensing required

- Experience in mortgage originations and mortgage servicing compliance preferred; experience in one or the other is required

- Experience interacting with financial services regulators strongly preferred

- Experience in offshore operations preferred but not required

- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to interface directly with regulators

- Excellent organizational and project management skills

- Exceptional judgment and critical thinking including handling of confidential data

- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills

- Proven ability to motivate team members to achieve results and meet targets

- Willing and able to travel as needed to fulfill job requirements
