Manager - Legal - LLB/CS - Philanthropy Foundation

We have been retained by our client that is a leading strategic Philanthropy Foundation in India.

Job Role : Manager- Legal

Job Location : Mumbai

Key Responsibilities :

- Developing and amending organization's policies on human resources, corporate governance or regulatory affairs and ensuring compliance with applicable law.

- Identifying potential legal problems within the organization and developing strategies to reduce potential areas of risk.

- Drafting, negotiating and finalizing grant agreements, contracts with donors, non-profits, service providers or other third parties. Managing all correspondence requiring legal inputs.

- Preparing contracts for internal review and approval and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable law.

- Providing updates and reports to the internal committees, partners and the Board on a regular basis on relevant legal issues.

Candidate Requirement :

- Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a corporate lawyer or an in-house legal counsel. Lawyers with experience working with non-profit organizations will be preferred.

- Bachelors' degree in Law (LLB), ideally qualified as a company secretary.

- Sound knowledge and understanding of all laws applicable to a non-profit organization.

- Highly competent in statutory, regulatory compliance issues.

- High standards of integrity, ethics and professionalism.

- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
