- Deliver of Indirect Tax operations activities in line with Global Syngenta Standards (GSM), and other applicable Indirect tax policies and procedures   - Assure Indirect tax Accounting, reporting & Audit / assessment certifications per respective countries regulatory requirements  - Assure compliance of Indirect tax i.e. payment, returns and reporting  - Participate in design & development and implement Region's Indirect Taxation strategies and models (Including Systems and processes) in line global guidelines  - Optimize tax costs and facilitate risk mitigation  - Maintain highly compliant culture through continuous review and improvement of functional process and engagement with internal & external stakeholders  - Managing Third party service providers for compliance, tax advisors etc.  - Support Business Facing for tax audit and litigations.   Indirect Tax :  Ensure as below :  Tax compliance - Tax payments, fillings, certifications for Indirect tax ( which includes Central Excise, Service tax, Sales tax (VAT & CST), EOU, STPI, FEMA, FTP etc.),   - Tax Accounting, Reporting, and litigation reporting  - Support for local Tax Audits and litigations in VAT and GST   - System & Process change management (Policies, guideline, instructions)  - Ensure effective and sustainable implementation of ICF Controls compliance & RMIS Controls related to Tax.  - To contribute to business performance enhancement through effective Tax planning and strategies which are alignment to overall business strategies  - Accountable for facilitation (support) of external audits by tax and/or other authorities regarding indirect tax obligations and minimize risk exposure in terms of tax liabilities  - Coordination of 3rd party service providers (Tax Consultants / Auditors etc.) and service delivery management including performance KPIs,  - Support Group Tax in tax optimizations projects,   - Play an active role in cashflow management (Tax credit) and realizing tax assets  - Design and ensure existence of required supporting documentation for compliance purposes  - Effective engagement with key stakeholders including collaboration with Trade Affairs and P&S   - Responsible for implementation of Goods and Service Tax ( GST)   - Knowledge & training, regulatory updates  - Cyclical sample check of correctness on:  - Sales and vendor invoices  - Import & export documentation   - Self-billing, e-invoicing   - IC recharges / SIRAF  - Coordinate with BD team for periodical compliance review and provide support for tax audit / assessments.  Critical Success factors & Key Challenges :   - Understanding the Business and complexities of various business segments (of CP, Seeds, and R&T) including the benefits schemes availed under indirect Tax  - Completing the ongoing Tax assessments for various tax entities and completing the appeal hearings  - Understanding SLA requirements of business partners under the SBS model and designing the Tax function to deliver them consistently while ensuring the Tax compliance  - Good networking with various stakeholders in the Organisation including the business partners, Tax Auditors, Tax Dept and consultants.  - Effectively balancing the various Tax and business priorities while ensuring the Tax compliance across the Organisation   - Ability to quantify material adverse tax outcomes   - Identify opportunities to mitigate financial exposure identify opportunities to mitigate financial exposure  Knowledge & capabilities :  Critical Knowledge :  - Operational Knowledge of SAP system is desirable  - Should have Working Knowledge of Excise, Customs, EXIM, Service Tax, VAT, Customs, LBT, FTP, FEMA regulations and compliance  - Hands on exposure of appearing before the Central Excise, Customs VAT and other Tax authorities at the rank of assessing officer and appearing independently or in conjunction with Consultants before such authorities   - Exposure on working for managing the appeals including drafting / framing of Grounds of appeals, drafting of responses and working with consultants ( Working with consultants is desirable)   - Reasonable knowledge on provisions of Double Taxation Conventions, Regulatory formalities of Reserve Bank of India, Taxation of expatriate etc  - 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in a senior manager role, 10-15 years working experience in industry   - Experience with multinational companies in Indirect Taxation function in the areas of Excise, Customs, EXIM, Service Tax, VAT and FTP regulations and compliance  - Relevant experience and/or qualification for competence in tax and statutory accounting and reporting  - Track record of compliance culture maintenance and enforcement. Good working knowledge of tax guidelines.   - Good understanding of business end-to-end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the Company's assets.  - Ability to effectively function in a complex multi-dimensional matrix organization.  - Strong and effective communication in relation to key stakeholders, including senior managers at the country, territory, region and global levels.  - Qualification i.e. CA/ Graduate in Commerce / with Diploma in Indirect Taxation or EXIM preferred   - Fluent in English
