JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key areas include but are not limited to the following :

Financial management - planning, reporting, analysis and decision support :

- Responsible for delivery of comprehensive, accurate and timely management reporting for finance

- Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive worldwide functional reporting capabilities within the Finance

- Perform analysis and project reporting to stakeholders, including comparison of actual to budget and development of new, relevant metrics to complement existing reporting by partnering with Senior Finance Managers, Managers and Leads

- Understand the management and financial reporting implications for new and existing accounting practices, take ownership for coordinating on global reporting projects impacting the functions

- Analyse performance drivers to proactively highlight issues and opportunities for improvement

- Collaborate with the team to develop robust financial models and analyses to support business decisions, with a focus on the financial performance and preparing related reporting

- Provide Senior Finance Managers leverage with the team during planning processes

- Assist Industrial (IPA) and Functional (FPA) Practice area's on data requests and analysis through the PA Decision support mailbox with focus on timely delivery and accuracy

- Partner with accounting services team responsible for month end close, general ledger management, accurate capturing of data and appropriate compliance with local, and other accounting practices

People management, team oversight and coordination :

- Manage a team of 4-6 lead analyst/senior analyst/analyst/associate team in India with customers primarily in US

- Responsible for day to day operations, resourcing of ad-hoc projects, balancing capacity across team

- Provide on the ground leadership and support to ensure accurate and timely delivery against service level

- Act as the main liaison between the Global reporting & analysis team in India and key stakeholders around the globe, ensuring seamless integration of work performed by GS Delhi finance with their non-India based colleagues

- Partner with GS Finance Ops Director and Senior Finance Ops Manager to develop strategy for the team and provide leverage on various projects

- Responsible for recruiting, performance development, on-boarding and ongoing coaching/mentoring of team

Operational Effectiveness and Efficiencies :

- Play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement to the reporting processes to gain efficiencies, which is inclusive of, but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications

- Develop robust documentation of current processes to support staff training and eventually broader finance team knowledge sharing

- Develop a strong governance model that would help in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of reporting

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics; CA, CPA, ICWA or MBA preferred

- 10+ years relevant work experience; less experience considered for exceptional performers

- Experience in accounting operations, planning and analysis, financial reporting while working in multinationals and complex, decentralized organizations

- Excellent communication skills, written and oral; comfortable with interacting with senior leaders

- Computer skills required: MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)

- Systems experience preferred: Exposure to Business Objects or other similar system is a plus (Financial, HR, management reporting system)
