Manager - Economics Cell - Conglomerate - LSE/DSE (4-5 yrs)

We are currently hiring for a conglomerate that is in the League of Fortune 500. An organization that is backed by an extraordinary force of over 120,000 employees, belonging to 42 nationalities. Over 50 per cent of its revenues flow from its overseas operations spanning 36 countries.

The offered role is for a Manager - Economics Cell. This position entails reporting to a renowned economist.

Job Purpose :-

To conduct and produce Group-relevant research on economic and sectoral trends by interacting and engaging with businesses in order to help them make well-informed business decisions.

The jobholder is responsible for research in broad areas namely the Indian and Global macro-economics, country study, financial markets, policy advocacy, and sectoral research.

The job broadly involves the following:

- Tracking of macroeconomic variables on a regular basis such as GDP, inflation, trade for India and other relevant countries.

- Tracking and forecasting of financial market variables like currency and interest rates for India and other relevant countries for risk management.

- Preparing representations for policy advocacy by understanding the policy fine-print and developing a coherent argument that furthers Group's business interest while being economically rational.

- Country study by understanding the features of an economy such as economic, political, policies and other risks from investment/ market perspective.

- Serving businesses by understanding their needs from an economic or business research perspective. This is done by being involved with them in different projects and through answering their queries.

Desired Candidate Profile :-

- Since the role is of utmost strategic importance,an ideal fit would be a BA Economics/MA Economics graduate or a PHD in Economics from esteemed institutions such as London School of Economics,Indian Institute of Statistical Research or Delhi School of Economics.

- Post qualification experience of 4 years would be a right match.
