Job Description
Job Title: Manager – Credit Control and Collection
Reports To: CFO India
Direct Reports: 6 (3 Full Time Associates and 3 Contract)
Responsible for: Strategic Credit Initiatives, Drive Collections, Keep Bad Debts Provision under control
Purpose/Objective:
Working for the CFO India , you will be responsible for the setting up and sustaining credit control processes as well as driving collections so as to maintain the value of our assets and not allow the Operating profit to be impacted by Bad Debts Provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Based on the understanding of the business, working closely with the Sales Leads and Business Unit Heads, conceptualise, implement and sustain an effective credit control process both in the ERP and on the ground so as to help mitigate receivable risk proactively.
- Institutionalise the Credit Control Process through trainings and getting a buy-in from the Sales Leads/Business Unit Leads
- Set up a plan for collection and drive the collection team to achieve the plan using a mechanism of updating stakeholders on the status through visual dashboards.
- Set up a process to identify risk areas based on the ageing of receivables and market information and have a strong plan to collect these in advance of these being potential reserves and impacting the operating profits of the business.
- Strive to drive a control mindset in the organisation in a manner that does not inhibit business and business growth.
- Work closely with the global collection counterparts of Company to exchange best practices and learning environment for continuous improvement.
- Lead a team through an objective process of fixing KPI’s, periodic caliberation of the same and personal development mindset to be flexible to move across finance functions and grow in the organisation.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Education: CA/ICWA qualifications,
Skills & Knowledge:
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and decision making skills.
- Strong understanding of business.
- Good people development skills
- Experience with US Gaap Continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma, Toyota production system, TQM, lean manufacturing) SAP, Hyperion Essbase
Experience:
- Has demonstrated experience in managing, streamlining and sustaining financial processes in reputed MNC/Indian companies for 7 years and above.
Worked using influence more than positional power
- Worked within multiple countries and cultures
- Experience in a matrix organisation
