Job Description:  - Resolution and effective handling of claims for cargo, commercial and legal, maximising cost effectiveness   - Investigate, negotiate and advise for settlement or litigation for disputes, claims or lawsuit   - Manage third party notifications, damage notice and recovery in certain incidents   - Decide on liability in case of any damages basis bill of lading terms and conditions   - Represent the Company in custom penalty matters   - Monitor survey cost and reduce annual spend of claims pay-out   - Review and approve settlement of claims   - Co-ordination with central claims team and external stakeholders with respect to major incidents (groundings, engine failures, flooding of holds, fire on vessels, fire on terminals etc.)   - Monthly/ periodic reporting to management   - Review and legally advise on vendor contracts and liabilities thereof.   - Representing the company's interests with the customers on credit agreements and collections.   - Act as an internal adviser on all legal matters and liaison with external authorities where   required.   - Ensure all legal activities are carried out in accordance with group values.  Key Skills: Key Skills:  - Minimum 6-8 Years in corporate laws.   - Experienced in handling legal aspects of claims and dispute resolution.   - Must be familiar with changing legislation and insurance related decisions which could impact the way claims are processed   - FAMILIARITY WITH MARITIME LAW  - Ability to communicate across various levels   - Strong computer skills including MS Office   - Experience in shipping industry will be an added advantage   P&I- Property and Insurance   QUALIFICATION - Master's Degree in Law (LLM) from a premier Law School.  Job Location: Mumbai  Job Sector: Shipping/Logistics
