Job Title : Regional PTP Lead

Job Level : Manager

Reports to (Job Title) : PTP Lead

Number of direct reports : 3 to 4

Total number of reports/Direct and indirect reports : 40 to 60

Education required : CA/CMA Qualified

Job Purpose/summary :

- Maersk Line is looking for an experienced, highly skilled and dynamic Regional PTP lead. This role entails leading a team of Cluster PTP leads, who collectively are responsible for ensuring On time payment of invoices to vendors, Timely & Accurate timely cost reporting and a healthy Balance Sheet for the segment owned.

- It is expected that the Regional PTP lead has a capability to think beyond numbers and combine numbers with business performance, strategy and financial insights. This role provides a great opportunity to be part of the LOC Organization in unit cost control & improved working capital management.

- Regional PTP lead will work with wide range of stakeholders in and outside of the finance and operations organization to improve the controlling and data quality around Liner operational cost reporting.

Key responsibilities would be :

- Manage and finalize monthly Cost reporting for the Region

- Ensure cost controlling is performed on weekly basis to support the monthly cost reporting & book close

- Ensure timely book close on workday 2 on a monthly basis in line with the Global reporting timetable

- Analyse current month cost with forecast & standard cost and provide variance analysis

- Ensure detailed reports for decision base are being presented to management at all times.

- Constantly improve the analytical and reporting tools which are either complex excel models or access databases in line with the changing business requirements

- Assist in preparing the forecast and ensure accurate and correct assumptions are used to reflect the best estimate for a true future picture for costs. Make sure that all assumptions are properly documented and communicated and ensure that all relevant assumptions are being included

- For Quarter end & Year End Book close, make sure that all costs are properly accrued for. Ensure that actual figures reflect true financial status of Maersk Line

- Ensure proper monitoring of SAP outstanding purchase orders on a frequent basis. Ensure that no outstanding purchase orders are more than 90 days old without proper documentation

- Assist in all finance related audits impacting overall area of responsibility. Take an active part in implementing new strategies based on audit recommendations and ensure changes/amendments to Standard Operating Procedures based on these recommendations.

- Perform detailed cost analysis and provide management reporting based on this analysis. Ensure that analysis is correct and timely. Tie in financial analysis to operations and provide easy to understand financial data for operational decisions.

- Ensure On time payment to vendors

- Support on Working capital initiatives for the LOC / Region

- Support SGA cost initiatives of the LOC / Region

Primary internal stakeholders :

- Regional Finance Leadership

- Cluster Finance Leadership

- Business Finance team

- Operations Leadership team

- Other Regional PTP Leaders

Primary external stakeholders : External Auditors

Required experience & skills :

- Solid financial educational background as Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree in Finance and Accounting

- Minimum 9 years of experience within cost controlling, cost accounting, P&L analysis etc. with at least 6 Years of people management experience

- Knowledge of budgets, financial statements, and cost control environment.

- Capable of connecting business performance to financial numbers

- Good in Excel skills & system savvy ( to support hands on use of SAP, Business warehouse & other operations systems used in Maersk line)

- Good analytical and structured working method

- High competency in written and verbal English

- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

- Influence without authority

- Good interpersonal, presentation and cooperative skills

- Good understanding of control framework

- Transportation industry experience would be an added advantage

- Accounting and Controlling compliance

- On time payment to vendors

- SGA cost
